Ratings burn! Turns out folks prefer Home & Garden programing over CNN

It seems all of CNN’s bashing of Donald Trump and sucking up to Hillary Clinton in 2016 did nothing to score a higher ratings win for the network.

Not only did CNN come in behind rival Fox News Channel in the ratings lineup, it was knocked out of even third place by the very non-news network, HGTV.

Home & Garden Television was the third most-watched cable network in 2016, right behind ESPN and first place winner Fox News, Bloomberg reported.

Charlie Sheen blasts nasty wish for Trump, promptly receives the scathing response he deserves

“A lot of the news these days is really stressful,” HGTV viewer Nikki Justice told Bloomberg. “HGTV is not something that’s going to hurt me. I watch it and dream of what I want for my future house.”

According to Bloomberg:

So does Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins, who recently said that he prefers HGTV to ESPN. Taylor Swift shared on Instagram her affection for HGTV’s “Fixer Upper.” And Hillary Clinton said she likes “Love It or List It” and “Beachfront Bargain Hunt,” calling them “relaxing, entertaining and informative.”

HGTV enjoyed the positive ratings despite liberal smear campaigns like the one launched against “Fixer Upper” superstars Chip and Joanna Gaines.

Twitter users found the news of CNN’s ratings fail to be quite humorous.

It’s called Karma, baby.
