Donald Trump was taken to task by the media late Saturday after commenting on what he described as “a bomb going off in New York,” even though rival Hillary Clinton also referred to the incident in question as a “bombing.”
…and a bomb DID go off.
Speaking at a rally in Colorado Springs, Trump told the crowd that a bomb had exploded in New York — the blast was a bomb detonated in a construction dumpster that injured 29 people, according to the New York Post.
“Just before I got off the plane, a bomb went off in New York and nobody knows exactly what’s going on, but, boy we are really in a time,” the Republican nominee announced. “We better get very tough, folks. It’s a terrible thing that’s going on in our world and in our country and we are going to get tough and smart and vigilant. We’ll see what it is.”

Later in the evening, Clinton spoke to the press about the incident aboard her campaign jet, saying: “I’ve been briefed about the bombings in New York and New Jersey.”
The Democratic nominee was also referring to an explosion earlier in the day along the route of a Marine Corps “Semper Five” charity run in New Jersey.

After Clinton described the two incidents as “bombings in New York,” a numb-skull reporter then asked the candidate to respond to Trump jumping the gun to call it a “bomb.”
“I think it’s important to know the facts about any incident like this,” Clinton responded.
Beginning with the fact that both candidates used the term “bomb” or “bombing” to describe… a bomb.
