A Home Depot employee was spotted wearing a ball cap taking issue with Donald Trump’s campaign slogan.
It said, “America was never great,” and it’s conjuring up a furious debate on social media.
Someone snapped a photo of Staten Island Home Depot employee Krystal Lake and posted it on Twitter.

Lake, 22, and a Sen. Bernie Sanders supporter, told Staten Island Advance that the cap was inspired by and an answer to Trump’s slogan.
“The point of the hat was to say America needs changing and improvement,” Lake told the Advance. “I don’t think it’s a positive message to say, “Let’s look to the past.'”
Despite the cap’s message, she emphasized that “I don’t hate America. I’m not an anti-American.”
People on social media expressed strong opinion of the cap — both positive and negative.
@RealDoctorWhite @HomeDepot until you post this person has been fired, I will not frequent your business.
