Adam Schiff is furious that Kevin McCarthy gave all J6 footage to Tucker Carlson

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who sat on the January 6th committee, appears to be extremely upset that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has handed over more than 40,000 hours worth of footage from the protest to Fox News host Tucker Carlson, calling him a “right-wing propagandist.”

Carlson’s team is reviewing the footage and should come out with a report on it next week, much to Schiff’s chagrin. Democrats are understandably upset over the development since there are likely to be revelations in the footage that indicate they are themselves the propagandists here at work, not the Fox News host. According to Axios, the footage includes multiple camera angles from all over the Capitol grounds.

“Kevin McCarthy turned over Jan 6 videos to right-wing propagandist Tucker Carlson. A man who spews Kremlin talking points. Suggests Jan 6 was a false flag. And spreads the Big Lie. Make no mistake: This isn’t about transparency, it’s about fueling dangerous conspiracy theories,” Schiff angrily and fearfully tweeted.

Except that it is about transparency and the American people have every right to see that footage. If everything is on the up and up with Democrats, there should be no fuel for conspiracy theories contained in the footage. If not, then there will be plenty to hold them accountable on.

After spending a few hours looking at the footage, it seems that Carlson has found a number of inconsistencies that fly in the face of Democratic rhetoric. It belies the narrative that the left has pushed for the last two years.

“We believe that access is unfettered. We believe we have secured the right to see whatever we want to see. We’re going to spend the rest of this week taking a look at it, assessing it as honestly as we can, and we’re going to bring you what we find next week,” Carlson told viewers on his show.

“I think the public should see what has happened on that,” McCarthy told reporters in January during a discussion concerning the January 6th footage, according to The Hill.

“We watched the politicization of this. I think the American public should actually see all what happened instead of a report that’s written for a political basis,” the GOP Speaker asserted.

Schiff is not the only Democrat who is freaking out over the release of the footage.

Tim Mulvey, who is a former January 6 committee spokesman, slammed McCarthy for releasing the footage in a statement to CNN, saying, “It’s hard to overstate the potential security risks if this material were used irresponsibly” by Carlson or other conservatives.

“When the January 6th Select Committee obtained access to US Capitol Police video footage, it was treated with great sensitivity given concerns about the security of lawmakers, staff, and the Capitol complex,” Mulvey claimed. “Access was limited to members and a small handful of investigators and senior staff, and the public use of any footage was coordinated in advance with Capitol Police.”

Twitter mocked and excoriated Schiff for getting in a twist over the footage being shown to the American public:
