‘Can’t make this up’: Biden released arms dealer, then attended ‘victims of gun violence’ memorial

The chutzpah regularly seen from the Biden administration appears to betray supreme confidence in knowing that the media has their back, but the hypocrisy on display Thursday from President Joe Biden was simply unreal.

On the very day the U.S. released a notorious Russian arms dealer known as the “Merchant of Death,” who was convicted of trying to kill Americans, President Biden spoke at the 10th Annual National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence, held at St Mark’s Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C.

The White House released a photo to mark the event, cashing in on the political value of the president’s appearance:

As Biden has a habit of doing when speaking with families who’ve lost loved ones, he mentions his own losses — a trait that is not always well received by the grieving families, as was seen when the president spoke with the families of the 13 U.S. service members who died so senselessly in Afghanistan last year.

“To all of you here tonight, it’s under different circumstances, but I know a little bit what the loss feels like,” Biden said on Thursday. “It’ll be an anniversary on the 18th of this month that I lost my wife and daughter and nearly lost my two sons when a tractor-trailer broadsided them. And it’s not long after that, the anniversary of losing my son. I know that feeling.”

He touted passing “the most significant gun law passed in 30 years, adding that the “work continues to limit the number of bullets that can be in a cartridge, the type of weapon that can be purchased and sold, the attempt to ban assault weapons.”

And, on the day he freed the “Merchant of Death” in exchange for WNBA player Brittney Griner, who was busted for possessing drugs, Biden quoted the Bible.

“Scripture says, ‘The light shines in darkness, and darkness has not overcome it,'” he said, before telling those in attendance that they are “the light.”

While the audacity is stunning — convicted arms dealer Viktor Bout is the very epitome of darkness — the president’s hypocrisy was not lost on social media users… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
