A dire warning from Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, about the risk of assassination he now faces highlights the gravity of the undertaking he has assumed in his endeavor to assure a level playing field on Twitter — a playing field previously dominated by the left that could, as was seen with the censoring of the Hunter Biden laptop story, count the intelligence apparatus in America as a working partner.
Musk discussed his security during a chat on Twitter Spaces on Saturday and told listeners that he would “definitely” not “be doing any open-air car parades.”
“Frankly the risk of something bad happening to me, or even literally being shot, is quite significant,” he said. “It’s not that hard to kill somebody if you wanted to, so hopefully they don’t, and fate smiles upon the situation with me and it does not happen … There’s definitely some risk there.”

The self-proclaimed “free speech absolutist” has become Public Enemy #1 on the left, and he said Saturday that “at the end of the day, we just want to have a future where we’re not oppressed.”
“[Where] our speech is not suppressed, and we can say what we want to say without fear of reprisals,” Musk explained. “As long as you’re not really causing harm to somebody else, then you should be allowed to say what you want.”
As for how seriously Musk is taking the threats, he can be heard in the video footage below taken at Dulles Airport, just outside of Washington, D.C. Surrounded by a group of serious-minded security personnel, he stated while entering a vehicle that he will not sign autographs “ever again.”
EXCLUSIVE — @elonmusk just landed @Dulles_Airport and announced to the world he is DONE signing autographs.. maybe if he sees this he can send me one 🙏. @tkradio @babesandballers #Theairporthustle pic.twitter.com/9UQSBtdYPs

Musk discussed the release of the Twitter files on Saturday and was very critical of the previous management team for doing the “bidding” of the Democratic Party.
“If Twitter is doing one team’s bidding before an election shutting down dissenting voices on a pivotal election, that is the definition of election interference,” he said, before adding, “Frankly, Twitter was acting like an arm of the Democratic National Committee, it was absurd.”
