While giving a speech at the Tribal Nations Summit at the Interior Department on Wednesday, President Biden bizarrely joked that first lady Jill Biden could potentially leave him and allegedly move to an Indian reservation.
He made the comment after he recounted his wife’s visit to a Cherokee Nation immersion school in Oklahoma. The school is attempting to revive the use of the Cherokee language. Jill Biden joined Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, the first Native American to serve as a cabinet secretary, to travel to Indian territory in the state.
“By the way, she spent a lot of time on other reservations – other nations – as well,” Biden stated before making a seriously cringeworthy joke.
“I’m worried she’s not going to come home one of these days when she goes. You think I’m joking,” he told those in attendance. “I’m telling you. I hear more about the Navajos than I hear about me. Y’all think I’m kidding, don’t you? Any rate.”

Biden then pivoted to promoting the learning of native language skills, according to the Daily Mail. He asserted that it leads to better outcomes in school, and continued by pandering that it “passes down old traditions to new generations. It matters.”
The president vowed that his administration would have “respect for Indigenous knowledge and tribal consultations.”
“I made a commitment when I ran for president … my administration would prioritize the Indian nation relationships,” Biden noted.
The president also announced a plan to use $135 million in federal funds to relocate tribal communities from coastal areas subject to flooding and other impacts linked to climate change in yet another nod to a Democratic talking point. Every one of those points seems to cost millions that the US cannot afford.
I am proud to have re-launched this convening of Tribal nations and elevated it into the White House Tribal Nations Summit.

“As all of you know, there are tribal communities at risk of being washed away, washed away by superstorms, rising sea levels, and wildfires raging,” he disingenuously stated. “That’s why today I’m announcing the $135 million commitment to help 11 tribal communities from Maine, Louisiana, Arizona, Washington State, and Alaska to move.”
The three communities, two in Alaska and one in Washington state, will each be given $25 million to move their key buildings to higher grounds away from rising waters, with homes to follow.
Eight more tribes will receive at least $5 million each from the federal government to plan for relocating their buildings due to supposed climate change. The project, which is funded by the Interior Department, represents the most aggressive form of climate change adaptation put forth by the Biden administration, according to the Daily Mail.
Biden also stated that he is requesting $9.1 billion for the Indian Health Service.

“My administration is going to work with the tribe to help them transition to clean energy development and do it quickly – that includes the federal government, as the largest single energy consumer in the world, buying more carbon-free electricity from tribal energy producers. We’re also going to launch a new electric vehicle initiative for tribal nations to ensure that our nationwide electric vehicle network includes native communities,” he added.
The president unbelievably has seen his approval rating rise a bit to 40 percent, despite gaffes, outright fibs, forgetfulness, and abhorrent jokes. A Reuters poll shows his rating ticking up slightly after Democrats did better in the midterm election than expected. That honeymoon period is not likely to last long.
Regardless, Biden is attempting to put himself at the center of the political whirlwind as rumors circulate concerning his run for reelection in 2024.
Following the tribal summit, the president and first lady lit the national Christmas tree before visiting Fiola Mare, an Italian spot on the Georgetown waterfront, to have dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte ahead of a formal White House state banquet on Thursday, according to the Daily Mail.

On Thursday night, the Macrons will be afforded the first state dinner of the Bidens’ tenure at the White House, replete with 200 lobsters and Napa Valley wine.

Twitter was amused at the thought of Jill Biden leaving her husband to live on a reservation:
