Woman allegedly ties up Tinder date… cuts, chokes, and threatens to kill him before ordering take out

In a cautionary tale that should make everyone think twice before hooking up on dating apps, a woman in Colorado met a man she connected with on Tinder, proceeded to tie him up, cut him, choke him and threaten to kill him before ordering a meal.

According to police, the Tinder terror ordeal took place on September 28 when 22-year-old Lauren Marie Dooley hooked up on Tinder with an unidentified young man, allegedly giving her date oral sex and then tying him up with duct tape before cutting him with a kitchen knife and throttling him.

Officers responded to an apartment in the 2500 block of East Cache La Poudre Street in Colorado Springs after receiving a call. They found Dooley there and arrested her.

Police are not releasing the name of the victim who is 21 years old. His name appears on an affidavit that was published by Law and Crime. He told officers he “just met Lauren on Tinder” hours before they had their “date.”

The two met at Dooley’s apartment after hooking up online. They evidently hung out on her couch for a bit before she undressed him and then performed oral sex on him. As dicey as that seems, it then allegedly took a really dark turn.

“She then used duct tape to bind [the victim’s] wrists together and ankles together,” the affidavit contends. “[The victim] found it odd, but consented to it. However, when Lauren produced a kitchen knife and demanded he get into her bedroom, [the victim] no longer consented to staying at the residence.”

Fearing Dooley would hurt him, the victim obeyed and got into her bed. Dooley then allegedly climbed on top of him and cut his left shoulder.

“Lauren then used both her hands to apply direct pressure to [the victim’s] throat for approximately 20 seconds, making it difficult to breathe. Lauren stopped, but only to procure a belt that she then placed around [the victim’s] neck,” according to a statement the victim gave to police.

“She tightened the belt for another 20 seconds, once more making it difficult to breathe. When she took it off, she checked [the victim’s] neck for a pulse,” the affidavit continued.

From there, Dooley forced the victim into a bathtub. He had been bleeding on her bedsheets which upset her.

As the horror scene was playing out, Dooley evidently got hungry and ordered a meal from DoorDash. That’s when she told him she would kill him if he tried to escape.

“If you scream or say anything, I’ll kill you,” she informed him.

Dooley forced the victim to sit on her bed while she ate the food.

Shortly after that, she fell asleep after pulling a blanket over the young man. The victim got a hold of the knife which was left under the bed covers and freed himself. As he tried to sneak out of the apartment, he bumped into a table awakening Dooley who chased him into the parking lot where she reportedly smeared his blood on her hands and arms as he called 911. That call was received by police around 5:45 pm.

“Officers located [the victim] who was naked and appeared to be bleeding from a laceration on his left arm,” police stated.

The victim “was also actively backing away from the suspect … Dooley … who appeared to have blood smeared on her arms and hand.”

When officers searched the apartment, they located the knife near the bed, along with several “blood-soaked rags and blood all over the bathtub.”

Dooley is being charged with second-degree kidnapping, two counts of second-degree assault, menacing, and false imprisonment, a class two misdemeanor according to police. She could get up to 25 years in prison if she is found guilty, according to the Daily Mail.

Dooley is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.

“Pretty shocking to know somebody that lives right around the corner is capable of doing this,” Hills Apartments resident Lauri Gloria told KRDO. “It scares me. I mean I saw the gentleman. He was cut pretty good and to think that someone could do that is pretty scary.”
