Triggered George Takei asks if anyone has checked Kyrsten Sinema’s pockets for drug money

Actor George Takei once vilely attacked moderate Democrat Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, asking if anyone had checked her pockets for drug money ostensibly because she is still standing against the Democrats’ massive pork-laden $3.5 trillion spending spree.

Takei has viciousness down to an art form when he disagrees with someone politically. He tweeted, “Overheard: Has anyone checked Sen. Kyrsten Sinema’s pockets for drug money?” The left lapped it up on social medial.

He’s not the only one piling on Sinema for not being in lockstep with the Democrats’ progressive leadership. He’s just more public with his hatred than some on the left.

The latest source of their professed outrage is the accusation that Sinama is holding a fundraiser with business lobbying groups who want to tank Biden’s “Build Back Better” agenda including his monstrous social spending bill according to the New York Times.

Progressives are painting Sinema as big-business friendly. She has taken a strong stance on rejecting the outrageous price tag of Biden’s socialist pork-fest bill. They are claiming that she also opposes drug price reform and tax increases on the wealthy that would allegedly help pay for the Democrats’ wishlist.

Behold the triggered left:

Leftist media outlet Salon basically called Sinema a Republican.

They listed S-Corp PAC, the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors, the National Grocers Association, the National Roofing Contractors Association, and the National Electrical Contractors Association as attending the fundraiser. All of these companies they claim donate primarily to Republican candidates and oppose the House draft of the spending package that would “kneecap private companies” through taxation.

Democrats are lining up to take proverbial shots at Sinema for not bowing to Biden and they are threatening her career over it.

“While she gives corporate influences great access, how much time in her schedule has Sen. Sinema reserved for open, public meetings with her constituents?” asked Faiz Shakir, an adviser to Senate Budget Chairman Bernie Sanders (I-VT)

“So Kyrsten Sinema is using the reconciliation fight to collect $5,800 checks from corporate PACs opposing the bill?” tweeted Sawyer Hackett, who is the executive director of former HUD Secretary Julián Castro’s People First Future. “Each of these PACs overwhelmingly support Republicans over Democrats.”

The Arizona Democratic Party followed suit on Saturday and overwhelmingly passed a resolution threatening a vote of no confidence if she “continues to delay, disrupt, or votes to gut” the spending plan. They also threatened her if she votes against filibuster reform, accusing her of continuing to protect a “Jim Crow relic” according to Newsweek.

“Senator Sinema remains steadfast in her support for the filibuster, does not support much of President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda, and does not support the platform of the Arizona Democratic Party,” a statement from the state’s Democrats contended.

“On a Zoom call with the ADP Executive board, she disregarded appeals of our leaders doubling down on her factually contrary ‘we need bipartisanship’ argument for keeping the filibuster and has failed to hold a single northern, southern or central town hall with the citizens of Arizona,” it continued.

“While we want Senator Sinema to be SUCCESSFUL, her argument that the filibuster protects the rights of minorities has become laughable in the face of Republican state legislators’ actions on voting rights, public health during the pandemic, and abortion rights,” the statement added.

If she does not vote in favor of filibuster reform, the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation bill, and the American Families Plan, they will proceed with a “no confidence” vote.

“If she continues to delay, disrupt, or vote to gut the Reconciliation Package of its necessary funding,” the statement asserted, “then the Arizona Democratic Party State Committee will go officially on record and will give Senator Sinema a vote of NO CONFIDENCE.”

Democratic organizer Kai Newkirk told The Daily Beast that supporters who helped elect Sinema in 2018 “have had enough of her betraying the voters who put her in office.”

“It’s time for her to show the bare minimum of accountability and stop obstructing the agenda that Democrats, including her, campaigned on and were elected to deliver,” he asserted. “Sinema is setting her political future on fire. If she doesn’t change course drastically and soon, it will be too late.”

While Democrats are threatening to do Sinema in, Takei is being thrashed by conservatives: (** Language warning)
