Tragedy when two men die in NY after man jumps to his death, lands on another

A “distraught” 25-year-old man jumped twelve stories from an apartment building to his death in Yonkers, New York Monday night and tragically landed on an unsuspecting 61-year-old innocent bystander killing him as well.

“The incident appears to be a tragic situation and the investigation is ongoing,” Yonkers police declared in a statement.

Both men died on impact at the scene on the roof of a concrete parking garage after the young man jumped shortly before 6 p.m. The tragedy occurred at the Cromwell Towers on Locust Hill Avenue and the two men did not reportedly know one another.

The investigation remained active on Monday night. Detectives interviewed witnesses and both mens’ family members. Officers also reviewed surveillance footage, but they do not suspect foul play.

Police offered their condolences to the grieving families of both men according to PIX11 News.

The men have not been publicly identified yet and there is no word on why the man jumped to his death.

Sad condolences poured in on social media.

One commenter stated, “What a tragic way to end a life. May their souls rest in peace.”

Another just couldn’t fathom how it happened, “Ok this is insane.”

One person blamed it all on fate, “What are the odds…that thing called FATE…there’s no getting around it!”

“The universe is really trying to make me agoraphobic. Stop testing me 😫 Rest In Peace to both of these men,” another user remarked.

“When you are walking you are taught to look both ways, but now you have to start looking up, too!” one woman sadly quipped.

“Talk about being at the wrong place at the wrong time for the non jumper,” another noted.
