CNN ‘nitwits’ Brian Stelter, Oliver Darcy hit online over theory why ‘Fox World’ covers CRT, Fauci emails

CNN media analysts Brian Stelter and Oliver Darcy claimed on Sunday that “Fox World” only covers controversial topics like Critical Race Theory and recent emails from lead immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci because those outlets can’t find any that will “stick” to President Joe Biden.

The duo made their observations during a segment on Stelter’s “Reliable Sources” program, which was never a network powerhouse and has bled viewers and ratings since the first of the year.

“It’s one thing to criticize someone and have a debate that’s fair. It’s another thing to say…he has ‘blood on his hands’, ‘we should arrest him, we should prosecute him we should throw him in jail and throw away the key,'” Darcy said regarding recent criticism of Fauci, perhaps by Rep. Matt Gaetz, who made the “blood on his hands” comment to Newsmax TV earlier this month after emails from Fauci revealed he was told early in the COVID pandemic the virus likely escaped from a lab in Wuhan, China.

The same emails showed that Fauci downplayed the effectiveness of masks Americans could purchase from retail outlets.

“That’s sort of what you’re seeing really saturated in right-wing media these days,” Darcy continued.

“Then you’re really in, like, a fantasyland, that’s never really going to happen,” Stelter interjected. “So…is the bigger picture…that when Biden attacks don’t stick…the Fox World finds new targets? You wrote in our newsletter this week that Critical Race Theory is an obsession of MAGA media, an obsession of Fox [News], it’s talked about constantly in right-wing TV.

“So, is that an example of moving on to a new target?” Stelter asked Darcy.

“I think that’s right. If you do watch Fox, if you pay attention to the right-wing media landscape, you see them more likely looking at other targets,” Darcy continued. “It’s not so much Biden, it’s going after Critical Race Theory, it’s going after Fauci.”

Darcy agreed with another guest, The Bulwark’s Amanda Carpenter, who said earlier in the segment that Fauci’s behavior and conflicting claims throughout the coronavirus pandemic are fair game. But he added: “The problem is, you don’t see that in right-wing media. It’s really just about attacking, about demonizing, and it’s not conducive to a good debate.”

Social media users took both analysts to task for politicizing what they argue are legitimate news stories worthy of coverage.

“Reporting actual news must be so foreign to CNN,” one user wrote.

“What a sad, desperate, pathetic and farcical station CNN has become. Their correspondences are compliant, repulsive, corrupt & clownish. Their guests are like trained, hollow angry Dem zombies. If you watch them I really feel sad for you,” wrote another.

Others pushed back on the duo’s narrative that nothing controversial was “sticking” to President Joe Biden and his administration.

“The attacks on Biden aren’t sticking? Sounds to me like the border crisis is weighing on him as his administration has pretty much set Kamala up to be the fall guy(or gal) for it,” said one user.

“Uh yeah ok, maybe they need to see this. Are people blind or deaf?” another user wrote, posting a video of Biden appearing to confuse Syria and Libya.
