‘Focus, Ted!’ Chris Cuomo highly triggered when Ted Cruz tweets his take on the term ‘breast milk’

On Wednesday, CNN’s Chris Cuomo raged against Senator Ted Cruz for having the temerity to send out a tweet concerning ‘breast milk’ during the second day of long and tedious impeachment proceedings being held against former President Trump.

The Texas Republican senator sent out the tweet in response to a Washington Examiner tweet concerning the British hospital system relabeling gender-specific terms in regards to breastfeeding, now referred to as ‘chestfeeding’, and the care of children by mothers. The hospital’s stated intent was to be “inclusive of trans & non-binary birthing people without excluding the language of women or motherhood.”

Cruz stated in his tweet: “Orwellian: The words ‘breast milk’ are now forbidden. Because science.” That set Cuomo off who proceeded to scold and chastise the senator on his show.

Cuomo went on to accuse Cruz of not having any interest in the impeachment hearing. He then slammed Cruz and told him to “Do your damn job.”

“So look, here’s what’s clear after today. There can be no good faith disagreement. The facts all point to Trump and his actions,” Cuomo stated as he proceeded to lay the groundwork for his attack on Cruz. “There can only be bad faith, like this.”

“Sen. Ted Cruz, tweeting during this trial about breast milk. He’s worried about how the term isn’t being accepted anymore. And he says it’s Orwellian,” Cuomo sneered while showing the tweet onscreen.

“Orwellian? Sir, you are at a trial that you’re not even paying attention to, where you are saying that what happened didn’t really happen because you don’t want to have to deal with the reality. That, my brother, is Orwellian,” Cuomo dramatically intoned. “Breast milk? Why is that on your mind? Focus, Ted. If you got off Trump’s teat a little bit, maybe you wouldn’t be thinking about breast milk so much. Do your damn job.”

“If Trump had his way, maybe you, but certainly not all of you would have made it out of there. Think about that,” Cuomo concluded. “Trump waited for hours. Why?”

Sens. Cruz and Josh Hawley (R-MO) both wanted voter fraud looked into in regards to the 2021 presidential election. Cruz was one of 44 Republicans who voted that the impeachment proceedings were unconstitutional since Trump is no longer a sitting president.

Cruz is not only facing attacks in the media and from the other side of the political aisle for his stances, tweets, and vociferous opinions, he is facing them at home as well. The senator and his family have been the target of an increasing number of death threats according to CBS 11.

“I will say the nasty rhetoric on the other side, the death threats directed at me and directed at my family have increased substantially, and we’ve seen this across the board. I think everyone needs to calm down. I’m going to do my job. I’m not going to be intimidated.”
