It took four days, but CNN’s chief international anchor Christiane Amanpour finally apologized for her egregious remark comparing President Donald Trump’s four years in office to the Nazi genocide that resulted in the deaths of 6 million Jews.

Amanpour’s deranged attack on Trump came on the anniversary of Kristallnacht, aka the Night of Broken Glass, where Nazis burned synagogues, vandalized Jewish businesses and killed nearly 100 Jews. In the days that followed, 30,000 Jewish men were arrested and sent to concentration camps.

“A comment on my program at the end of last week. I observed the 82nd anniversary of Kristallnacht, as I often do,” Amanpour said on Monday’s show. “It is the event that began the horrors of the Holocaust.”

The liberal journalist tried to explain why she likened that to Trump, although she said she shouldn’t have made the comparison.

“I also noted President Trump’s attacks on history, facts, knowledge, and truth,” she continued, as if her accusations were actual fact. “I shouldn’t have juxtaposed the two thoughts. Hitler and his evil stand alone, of course, in history.”

“I regret any pain my statement may have caused,” Amanpour concluded. “My point was to say how democracy can potentially slip away and how we must always zealously guard our democratic values.”

Note that she did not apologize to President Trump for the vile comparison.

It’s equally noteworthy that those who represent the greatest threat are often the very ones who make a robust stand in defense of our “democracy” — in reality, the term is a left-wing perversion of majority rule.

(Our founding fathers went to great pains to avoid democracy, establishing a republic to avoid mob rule.)

It was on Thursday’s show that Amanpour let her Trump Derangement Syndrome to get the better of her while advocating for a Biden presidency.

“It was the Nazis’ warning shot across the bow of our human civilization that led to genocide against a whole identity,” she said, “and in that tower of burning books, it led to an attack on fact, knowledge, history, and truth.”

“After four years of a modern-day assault on those same values by Donald Trump, the Biden/Harris team pledges a return to norms, including the truth,” Amanpour added. “Every day Joe Biden makes presidential announcements about good governance and the health and security of the American people, while the great, brooding figure of his defeated opponent rages, conducting purges of perceived enemies and preventing a transition.”

Among the outcry, the Israeli Foreign Ministry requested an official apology for the controversial remarks.

The group Stop Antisemitism also denounced Amanpour, calling on her to “please stop using the horrors of the Holocaudt to justify an agenda.”
