At least hundreds of supporters of President Donald Trump caravanned along the street in front of Trump Tower in New York City on Sunday as he continued to convalesce at Walter Reed Medical Center in Baltimore as he recovers from COVID-19.
Video of the caravan showed a long line of vehicles three- and four-abreast sporting American flags and a variety of pro-Trump banners.
“Folks, This is NYC! Silent Majority Is Not Silent Anymore!” one supporter wrote on Twitter in a post that included some video of the massive caravan.

Reports noted that the vehicle caravan lined Fifth Avenue and passed Trump Tower, with many honking their horns and waving “Trump/Pence 2020” flags. Many shouted their support as well, including “Four more years!”
Most caravan participants, reports said, were from Suffolk County, Long Island.
Many in the group said they wanted to show their support for the president, especially as he recovered from the novel coronavirus.
The Sunday show of support followed earlier pro-Trump demonstrations in New York and around the country, the Daily Mail reported.
Around 2,500 Staten Island residents, many carrying U.S. flags and Trump 2020 banners and memorabilia, gathered for a rally and prayer session at a Charleston shopping mall.
As many chanted the president’s name, others sported a large poster that read, “The Fight of the Century: Law and Order vs. Anarchy,” which superimposed Trump’s face over that of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali in the famous picture of his knockout of Sonny Liston in their second bout.
At one point, an organizer called for a moment of silence. “This is a serious situation — the leader of the free world is sick. The leader of the free world needs our support,” the organizer said over a loudspeaker, the New York Post reported, before asking those assembled to “send some good energy to President Trump.”
NYPD officers were on the scene monitoring the event, but there were no incidents of lawbreaking or violence as if often the case involving the president’s supporters.
“There were a lot of cops [but] there was no trouble,” a local security guard told the Post, adding that she estimated seeing the caravan blocking Fifth Avenue stretch for almost 10 blocks from 54th Street to around 62nd Street.
“It was peaceful, no stress. Nobody was hassling anybody,” she added.
The Post reported that the main body of supporters was called “The Long Island Loud Majority.” The group began assembling around 4 a.m. in Ronkonkoma, according to one participant, Jessica Marie Hahnan.
Scores of supporters have also stood vigil outside of Walter Reed since the president was admitted on Friday after contracting COVID-19.
On Sunday, the president surprised his supporters with a short drive-by in which he waved at them and they responded in kind shortly after releasing a video on Twitter announcing his move.
“I think we’re going to pay a little surprise to some of the great patriots that we have out on the street,” he said. “And they’ve been out there for a long time, and they’ve got Trump flags. And they love our country. So I’m not telling anybody, but you. But I’m about to make a little surprise visit.”
