Video showing outrageous indoctrination of 5th grader reportedly being scrubbed, sparks fierce reaction

Video from a virtual class in Florida sparked angry reactions on social media over what appeared to be another example of biased teaching.

The video posted without specific details shows a young boy in front of his computer apparently during a virtual class as a male voice identified as the child’s teacher spouted on with outrageous political commentary, much of which was incorrect. The caption stated that the video captured a Palm Beach Gardens 5th Grade teacher “indoctrinating his class” and added that the school allegedly “keeps deleting this video.”

“Here’s something else to think about,” the teacher could be heard saying in the video, noting that if Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden gets elected, he would be the oldest U.S. president.

“Oldest presidents sometimes die during office. If this one should get elected and dies during office, we will have the first woman president,” he continued, emphasizing the last words and adding that there are a “whole lotta ways” the country can end up with a female president.

“The possibilities are exciting, right ladies?” he asked.

He went on to claim that the U.S. has had “I don’t know how many presidents, 47? 48?” apparently ignorant of the fact that Donald Trump is the nation’s 45th president.

“Almost all of them have gotten us into a war,” he stated, even getting the young student to cast a questioning and surprised glance at the camera.

“I’d like to see a woman president. Women don’t like to fight. They like to talk their way out of a fight,” he added, claiming that men like to fight and “knock each others’ heads off.”

An unidentified voice off-camera, at this point, interjected saying, “he’s got some damn nerve trying to indoctrinate my grandson.”

She also identified the class as being a fifth grade class at Palm Beach Gardens Elementary School, located in Palm Beach County.

The teacher spent a few moments discussing the ages of Biden and Trump before noting that although people “are living older,” it is actually “bad for Democrats” because in the last few decades, victories have gone to younger candidates such as John F. Kennedy and Jimmy Carter.

But he added that Sen. Kamala Harris could probably “bail” out Biden as she “represents the future” of the party while he represents the “present” of the party “who will certainly die off in the next 20 years.”

He continued to cheer-lead for the Democrats and exclaimed that “Joe Biden’s got a chance to win this thing” as he gushed about a female vice president.

“No woman has ever been in a better driver’s seat than Kamala Harris,” he claimed.

The teacher veered off for a few moments to tease topics that he promised to cover during black history month later in the school year.

The final video appeared to include screenshots of comments on the video from where it may have been originally posted. Most were appalled by the comments which seem to be popping up more on social media as children are learning from home, under the eye of watchful parents, because of coronavirus restrictions in many states.

Palm Beach County local Alexandria Ayala, who was recently elected to the PBC School Board, believes that even if the teacher meant well, by trying to “create an open dialogue,” the method was not “appropriate.

“My belief is that children in elementary school should be focused on learning how to read, write, do arithmetic, appreciate the arts so they can be successful later in life,” Ayala said in a statement exclusively to BizPac Review, emphasizing that she was speaking as a private citizen and not as a member of the School Board.

“I don’t believe it’s appropriate, at these grade levels, for an educator to attempt to push children to one side of the fence or the other,” she added, noting that discussions on “partisan politics” in elementary grades should get the prior approval of school administrators.

“It may have been well-intentioned to create an open dialogue, but public education should strive to teach young children to think critically and empower them to make their own decisions and succeed,” Ayala said.

Some issues with the videos were reported by social media users on Facebook and Twitter which the person posting addressed in a comment.

Other Twitter users appalled at the teacher’s many errors and blatant political bias unloaded in reactions to the videos.
