Cleveland, Ohio radio station WTAM fired a news anchor for referring to Democrat senator Kamala Harris as the nation’s “first colored vice presidential candidate.”

Anchor Kyle Cornell, 26, used the phrase during a promo spot that aired during the radio station’s broadcast of a Cleveland Indians baseball game.
Cornell said: “The U.S. officially has its first colored vice presidential candidate.”
Some listeners immediately got enraged and trashed Cornell on social media.
Thanks to the constantly-changing “rules” surrounding political correctness, critics claim that “colored” is a racist slur. But “people of color” isn’t.
Reminder: The NAACP — the most prominent black-advocacy group — stands for the “National Association of Colored People.”
After his firing, Kyle Cornell apologized and said he meant no disrespect toward Kamala Harris.
“I wasn’t meant to be malicious or in any way trying to [defame] the character of anyone,” Cornell told WKYC. “Again, I am truly sorry. For the station of WTAM too, I feel awful for putting them through what they’ve had to go through over the past 24 hours. I just want them to understand it was a rough choice to make and that I accept my punishment.”
Basically, WTAM fired Cornell because some listeners complained and accused him of being racist. In today’s hypersensitive environment, employees don’t even get a warning or a second chance. They get fired immediately for one offense — even if it’s not intentional or malicious.
In a statement, WTAM’s program director Ray Davis claimed the term “colored” is “extremely offensive.”
“We are aware of the reference made on WTAM by Kyle Cornell. We take this matter very seriously and addressed it immediately.
The term used is extremely offensive and does not align with our station’s core values and commitment to the communities we serve. He is no longer with WTAM.”
Bo Snerdley, the veteran radio producer for Rush Limbaugh, expressed disgust at the Left’s constant race-baiting.
Snerdley tweeted: “This is what the Democrats run on – cycle after cycle. Race divisions, socialism and lawlessness.”
If Democrats can turn a mispronunciation of Kamala's name into a racist act (AP story today) then any word can be turned into a racial slur. This is what the Democrats run on – cycle after cycle. Race divisions, socialism and lawlessness. https://t.co/ad4MGsQGeL

Last week, the NBA fired a longtime photographer for sharing a popular meme on his Facebook account.
Countless Twitter users had tweeted the “Joe and the Hoe” meme for days — long before photographer Bill Baptist posted it on Facebook.
The “hoe” moniker is a reference to longstanding suggestions that Kamala Harris slept with powerful married men to promote her career.
One of Harris’ alleged ex-lovers is former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown.
Brown, a Democrat, has admitted having an extramarital affair with Harris in the 1990s. Willie Brown also confessed that he helped Kamala’s career when she slept with him.
The irony of the Left’s race-baiting hypersensitivity to anything that might offend Kamala Harris is comical, considering it has downplayed the slave-owning past of Harris‘ family.
Kamala is the descendant of Hamilton Brown, a prominent slave owner in Jamaica.

Meanwhile, Biden’s selection of Kamala as his running mate has not excited his base.
Eric Trump pointed to Harris’ disastrous tenure as California attorney general and the collapse of her hometown San Francisco as evidence that she’s unfit to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.
Kamala was also the controversial district attorney of San Francisco from 2004 to 2011.
“No one is bringing this up and I don’t know why,” Eric told Fox News host Sean Hannity. “She’s from San Francisco, a beautiful city. Unfortunately, it’s gone to absolute hell. You look at the crime in that city, the homelessness. There’s people defecating in the streets. You walk your kids to school and you’re walking over hypodermic needles. This is a city that she governed over.”
Eric said: “So if you want the rest of the country, all these swing states and the rest of the country to emulate San Francisco… People can’t even live there because the taxes are so high and the city has gone to total hell. If you want that, then she’s the perfect running mate for you. The problem with the DNC is they are tone-deaf to these issues. They’re tone-deaf to what their party now stands for and how radical and disconnected it is.”
