Noted civil rights attorney Leo Terrell, who has become increasingly critical of Democrats he has long associated with, blasted the party again Saturday for playing the “race card” with Mount Rushmore.
During an appearance on “Hannity,” which was hosted by former U.S. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), Terrell noted he was “embarrassed to be a Democrat” in response to a question about whether there was “anything wrong with Donald Trump visiting” the monument to deliver a speech to celebrate Independence Day.
“Jason, I am embarrassed,” Terrell began. “To answer your question, absolutely not.”

“To celebrate our independence, this is a great place for the president to celebrate our nation’s birthday,” he continued.
Terrell then referenced a tweet from the Democratic National Committee which characterized the Mount Rushmore rally as a “white supremacist” event.
“That tweet — I want people to hear this,” Terrell noted further. “The Democratic Party calling this a ‘white supremacy’ meeting is the race card at its highest level and that came from the Democratic Party.”
The tweet has since been deleted. It said: “Trump has disrespected Native communities time and again. He’s attempted to limit their voting rights and block critical pandemic relief. Now he’s holding a rally glorifying white supremacy at Mount Rushmore — a region once sacred to tribal communities.”
Continuing, Terrell noted that if the Democrat Party wants to find an example of racism, they should hold up their presumptive nominee, Joe Biden, who said during an interview with Charlemagne Tha God in May that “you ain’t black” if African-Americans did not vote for him in November.

He also noted that at one point, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), who dropped out of the Democratic presidential race earlier this year, called Biden “racist” as well.
“The bottom line is simply this,” he added. “If you are a Democrat, you can be a racist. But the point here is, you accuse the Republicans of being racist and there is no evidence of that whatsoever. It’s embarrassing and I am embarrassed to be a Democrat tonight.”
The civil rights lawyer has been increasingly vocal in his criticism of the Democrat Party in the aftermath of the George Floyd incident, which he — and most of the country — roundly condemned as an injustice.
In late May after riots erupted around the country, Terrell ripped Democrats for failing to condemn the destruction.
“There is universal acceptance that the murder of George Floyd was wrong. We agree with that,” he said.
However, Terrell added, “I am disappointed, shocked that there has been no Democratic lawmaker in the last 72 hours who have focused on the criminal activities of these individuals who are not protesting.”

“These are criminals and they are breaking the law using the guise of caring about George Floyd,” Terrell noted further. “And, I encourage all you Democratic lawmakers, all you lawmakers, to stand up and criticize these criminals.
“I have tremendous credibility as a civil rights attorney. I agree with Sean Hannity. I thank the president for spending prompt action of getting the attorney general involved in this and the county district attorney for filing charges,” he noted, adding that Democrats wouldn’t condemn the rioting because they feared losing black voters.
“I’ve got news for you: you’re alienating me,” he said. “I’m a black voter and you have lost me if you don’t stand up and do something about these criminals.”
Days later, Terrell got into a shouting match on “Hannity” with Left-wing political activist Cornel West over a discussion of ongoing rioting and violence in the black communities, in which the latter called the civil rights attorney the “N” word.
