Rioters in the process of toppling a statue of former President Andrew Jackson in Lafayette Park, which is located next to the White House, were stymied when U.S. Park Police swept in and cleared the area.

“Hey, hey! Ho, ho! Andrew Jackson has got to go!” the unruly protesters chanted, as they pulled on multiple ropes thrown around the heavily vandalized bronze statue.

For a short time, chaos reigned in the street.

The actions of the mob confirms that the unrest now being witnessed has little to do with racial justice and more of an all out assault on America, its heritage, and all that it represents.

Hatred of America clearly trumps concerns over alleged race-driven police brutality.

Aided by other agencies, park police reportedly used teargas to disperse the crowd — the media was far more fixated on the tactics police were forced to employ to disperse the mob than they were on the actions of the mob.

The radical protesters did not go quietly, as there were multiple clashes with police.

President Donald Trump took to Twitter late Monday to denounce the “disgraceful vandalism,” and to warn of stiff penalties.

Numerous people arrested in D.C. for the disgraceful vandalism, in Lafayette Park, of the magnificent Statue of Andrew Jackson, in addition to the exterior defacing of St. John’s Church across the street. 10 years in prison under the Veteran’s Memorial Preservation Act. Beware!

Police formed a barricade to keep the mob out of the park.

Secretary of the Interior David L. Bernhardt declared that the United States “will not bow to anarchists.”

“Law and order will prevail, and justice will be served,” Bernhardt said, according to Fox News.

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ariz., called on the president to deploy federal law enforcement officers to protect landmarks in DC, while taking a shot at hard-left DC Mayor Muriel Bowser.

“It’s about time DC police showed up to stop the mob,” he tweeted, along with the call.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham took to Twitter with her take on what’s happening, to include that the incident was “planned [and] well-funded.”

She tweeted: “Lafayette Square is under the control of the @USParkPolice. It and the Jackson statue are federal property. Thus, the failure to protect it cannot be blamed on the DC Police. Antifa & BLM wants a trophy across from WH. This is all planned & well-funded.”

The “peaceful protesters,” as the liberal media refers to the rioting mob, moved to set up a “Black Autonomous Zone,” near the White House, following the lead of Seattle, where anarchists and far-left revolutionaries have commandeered a six-block area in the city.

The letters “BHAZ” were spray-painted on the columns of St. John’s Church, which was set afire during the previous Black Lives Matter riots.

The madness in the streets continued well into the night.

Expect clashes to continue, as the trouble makers remained in the area, encamped nearby.
