Lifelong Democrat walks into Trump 2020 office, rips up voter reg. card to join MAGA crew

The 2020 presidential election may prove to be a sobering moment for Democrats, given how far left the party has shifted since President Barack Obama, who would be seen as too moderate by many in the party today.

At the same time, there’s more and more evidence to suggest the Democratic Party, lead by the likes of radical freshmen like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is leaving behind some of its own members in its steady migration to socialism.

A tweet featuring a lifelong Democrat who has had enough is one such example of what may prove to be a trend.

“Bill just walked into our office and told me he is a life long Democrat but that the party has moved so far left that he can longer support them,” Christopher, the vice president for Students for Trump at Arizona State University tweeted.

“He ripped up his Democratic voter registration card and I just registered him to vote as a Republican!” the student leader added.

The tweet included the hashtag #WalkAway

The #WalkAway Campaign is a grassroots movement founded by Brandon Straka, a former liberal, that encourages folks “to walk away from the divisive tenets endorsed and mandated by the Democratic Party of today.”

“We are walking away from the lies, the false narratives, the fake news, the race-baiting, the victim narrative, the violence, the vandalism, the vitriol. We are walking away from a party driven by hate,” the movement’s website states.

Straka responded online to comedian Ricky Gervais blistering a room full of liberal Hollywood nobility Sunday night at the Golden Globes awards show to say, “I truly believe an anti-left backlash has begun.”

Gervais told the Hollywood hypocrites: “So, if you do win an award tonight don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your god and then f**k off.”

Congressman Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey, just switched parties at the height of the partisan effort to impeach President Trump, becoming a Republican last month.

In saying that the GOP was “just a better fit” for him, Van Drew spoke of intolerance from the progressive left of moderate, blue-dog Democrats, which suggests there may be others to follow.

Trump’s reelection campaign launched the “Democrats for Trump” coalition, the same day Van Drew made his switch official.

“From the sham impeachment to the outright embrace of socialism, the Democrat party of today is unrecognizable and leaving moderate Democrats behind,” campaign manager Brad Parscale stated. “For Democrats who feel abandoned by the socialist radicalization of their party, there is room for you on Team Trump and we welcome you to join the movement and a President that are putting America first.”

There is also the Blexit Movement, founded by Candace Owens to “free” black voters from the decades-long grip of the Democratic Party.”

“Blexit is the black exit from the Democratic Party. It’s the black exit from permanent victimhood, the black exit from the false idea that we are somehow separate from the rest of America,” Owens told Fox News in Oct. 2018.

All of which suggest that November 2020 may be a tough day for Demcorats… here’s a sampling of responses to “Bill” switching parties from Twitter:
