Giuliani goes off on Fox host who said Trump should fire him, threatens to sue

Rudy Giuliani is “outraged” by Fox News host Steve Hilton for suggesting President Trump “dump” him as his personal lawyer. Giuliani is even threatening to sue Hilton for libel.

The former New York City mayor blasted Hilton in a series of Monday tweets for the “very lazy reporting,” referring to comments by the host of “The Next Revolution” on Sunday calling Giuliani an “unethical disaster” while also slamming other “grifters” who have led Trump “astray” in the Ukraine controversy.

“I have not taken a penny for representing my friend, President Trump,” the president’s lawyer tweeted, denying that he tried to “pursue private business deals in Ukraine to ‘enrich’ myself.”

“Rudy Giuliani was a great mayor and a great leader, but he’s turned into an unmitigated, and now it seems unethical, disaster,” Hilton said on his Fox News show, citing reports that Giuliani pursued his own private business in Ukraine during the time he was supposed to be acting on the president’s behalf.

“While President Trump has been trying to govern for the American people, all these hangers-on have been trying to make money for themselves off Trump,” he said, urging the president that it’s “time to dump these toxic chumps.”

Giuliani had already denied the reports and asserted in his tweet that “in reality I have made ZERO in Ukraine!”

He also added that he has “considered and turned down all deals in Ukraine, even those not presenting a conflict” since taking on Trump as a client.

“Lawyers tell me @SteveHiltonx is a wild card and I should sue him for libel,” Giuliani added. “He recklessly disregarded the truth!”

In a final jab, the former mayor said Hilton should be “thanking” him for the Ukraine story involving Burisma, the Ukrainian gas company that hired former Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, to its advisory board.

Giuliani claimed Hilton would not even be covering the controversy if not for him and said the Fox News host “should apologize for his maliciousness.”

Hilton railed against Giuliani and others for their part in the Ukraine scandal, calling them a “bunch of chancers, grifters and spivs” who have been “taking advantage of the president to do dodgy deals in the world’s shadiest places.”
