MMA fighter pins anti-Trump ‘resister’ after allegedly being bitten at Veterans Day event

Professional MMA fighter Tara LaRosa rocked an anti-Trump resistance protester Sunday in Portland when the woman got into a scuffle with another participant.

LaRosa was part of a group waving American flags ahead of Veterans Day and had started a livestream of the demonstration before the scuffle ensued, The Oregonian reported. The paper said LaRosa can be heard telling the two to stop and “break it up.”

“You’re antagonizing the city I live in,” the liberal woman told LaRosa. “Just let me breathe.”

“No, we’re not, we’re doing a flag wave,” LaRosa replied. “We’re not trying to fight.”

After confronting the woman, LaRosa said she was injured when the self-described professor bit her through her clothing, resulting in an open chest wound, according to journalist Andy Ngo, who was present.

Ngo posted a video of LaRosa detaining the “professor” as a man is heard off-camera telling the woman, “You’re going to jail!”

The woman was singing a different tune from her earlier defiance, whining that she couldn’t breathe.

“At flag-waving rally in Portland, [Tara LaRosa] says she had to take anti-Trump protester to the ground after the woman allegedly attacked another woman. The group detained the self-described professor until police came. LaRosa says the woman bit her chest, causing an open wound,” Ngo tweeted, along with the video.

**Warning: videos contain profane language:**

[Tara LaRosa] says she was injured when the woman bit through her hoodie, shirt and bra. She has scrapes on her neck and knees as well,” Ngo tweeted in a second post that included photos of the MMA fighter’s injuries.

LaRosa tweeted a video clip that she said shows the woman started the original fight.

“NEW video from yesterday’s altercation at the Veteran’s Day flag wave in Portland, OR over I-84,” she tweeted. “She failed to start a fight w/me, so she chose someone else. In this video she clearly attacks another woman & throws the first punch. I broke up the fight & kept her from being hurt.”

Typical of Portland, the woman was not arrested, according to The Oregonian.

Portland Police Sgt. Kevin Allen said that after investigating the incident, the case has been referred to the district attorney’s office for review — for what that’s worth in the decidedly liberal city.

Social media users had little sympathy for the alleged professor… here’s a quick sampling of responses from Twitter:
