MSNBC opinion host Rachel Maddow had an awkward exchange with “The View” co-host Abby Huntsman, when Huntsman suggested that Maddow is contributing to the mass erosion of public trust in the media with her nonstop barrage of debunked anti-Trump conspiracy theories.
Maddow appeared on the left-wing talk show yesterday (Oct. 3) to shill her new book.
After Maddow breathlessly claimed that *this time* the Democrats have the goods to impeach both President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, Huntsman quipped that “there has been a crying wolf for so long.”
Abby Huntsman is a Never-Trumper who wants him to be impeached. However, she’s frustrated by the media’s repeated failed attempts to push anti-Trump stunts that later blow up in their faces.
“[The media has been shrieking] ‘This is it! This is the smoking gun!’ for two years now from Democrats, from some members of the media,” Huntsman lamented.
Abby continued: “Now you have people in this country that are like, ‘We don’t believe anything anymore.’ They’re shutting [the news] off. They are not taking it as seriously as they should. And I ask you, ‘Do you think you’re part of that problem?'”
Huntsman admitted that leftist talk shows like “The View” contribute to the problem with their incessant anti-Trump chatter. “We’re all guilty of things at times,” she confessed.

A stunned Joy Behar — a fellow Trump-hater — scolded Huntsman. “Rachel?!” Behar said.
Maddow replied: “I think it’s a really good point. But it’s a consequence of having a really scandal-ridden presidency with all sorts of stuff that happens all the time, that in any other presidency, would have already led to impeachment.”
In 2017, Rachel Maddow totally humiliated herself when she gleefully bragged that she had gotten her hands on two pages of President Trump’s 2005 tax returns.
Maddow breathlessly teased her big “scoop,” promising to prove that Trump was a tax evader who wasn’t as rich as he claimed.
Unfortunately for Maddow, Trump’s 2005 tax returns showed the opposite: The billionaire paid $38 million in taxes on income of $153 million.
Trump’s tax returns contradicted left-wing accusations that he paid no income taxes at all, as Hillary Clinton and left-wing media repeatedly claimed.
Rachel Maddow inadvertently undermined an October 2016 New York Times story claiming Trump had paid no income taxes between 1995 and 2013.
The New York Times bleated this tabloid headline on Oct. 1, 2016: “Donald Trump Tax Records Show He Could Have Avoided Taxes for Nearly Two Decades.”
Maddow’s tax return “bombshell” showed that President Trump paid more taxes than other wealthy people at similar income levels. Moreover, Trump paid a higher tax rate than Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders and former president Barack Obama.
Donald Trump Jr. thanked Rachel Maddow for her big “scoop” proving his dad paid a lot of taxes:

Trump supporters loved the idea that Trump trolled Maddow and mainstream media once again.

Rachel Maddow’s ratings continue to crater after Robert Mueller‘s final report concluded there was no evidence of Trump-Russia collusion and insufficient evidence for obstruction of justice. Congratulations, leftists!
