Rocker Eddie Money is currently battling stage four esophageal cancer, according to TMZ.

According to the new report, Money makes the confession during season two of his reality television series “Real Money.” Sources close to the show say the “Take Me Home Tonight” singer heartbreakingly got the news late last year during a routine checkup to his doctor.

While the cancer started in Money’s esophagus, it has reportedly spread to other parts of his body, meaning he is in for quite an uphill battle.

Despite the diagnosis, Money has still been filming his television show, which follows Money and his family’s lives in Southern California, and he’s also been touring. “Real Money” was just recently renewed for a second season by AXS TV.

The sources speaking to TMZ added that Money will keep cameras close to him while he receives treatment for cancer.

The 70-year-old rocker previously took breaks from touring for health issues that are reportedly unrelated to his cancer situation. He had a heart valve procedure in May and caught pneumonia in July.

Money is best known for hit songs like “Take Me Home Tonight,” “Baby Hold On,” “Two Tickets to Paradise,” and “Think I’m in Love.”

Fans have already been taking to social media to give Money and his family their best wishes.

“Love me some Eddie Money. Prayers for recovery,” one Twitter user wrote in response to the news.

“Prayers for Eddie,” added another.

“So sorry to hear this sad news abt rocker #EddieMoney. We will continue to pray for his health. We are huge, huge fans! Get Well Soon!” wrote another.

Another wrote, “Sad news to hear if you’re a classic rock fan. Here’s hoping that Eddie beats it.”

Money has been married to his wife Laurie since 1989. They have five children.
