Conservative pundit Michelle Malkin was spot on when she called attention to the trending #BrownSkinGirlChallenge hashtag on Twitter.
Noting that the social media platform “embraces skin color-based pride,” Malkin nailed it when she added that this is “only if you have the politically acceptable skin color and Silicon Valley-sanctioned ideology.”
Malkin tweeted: “Scrolling through the #BrownSkinGirlChallenge trending hashtag and seeing that [Twitter] embraces skin color-based pride…but only if you have the politically acceptable skin color and Silicon Valley-sanctioned ideology.”
She added a hashtag of her own: “#SJWRules.”

With the “squad” of America-hating progressive women of color in the news lately, Malkin issued a challenge of her own: “My #BrownSkinGirlChallenge – Post if you are a brown-skinned girl who identifies as a proud American!”

Of course. it goes without saying that a “white skin girl challenge” would never get the chance to trend on Twitter before being squashed. And if it did trend, the social media platform is not above manipulating what makes it on the list of popular topics, critics say.
An outspoken conservative not afraid to call out the left for its ridiculousness, Malkin is not too popular with progressives and they wasted no time unleashing their venom on her.
Hell, they even went so far as to deny Malkin the color of her skin because she isn’t in lockstep with their beliefs — this being the same crowd who wants to lecture the right on proper political discourse.
It doesn’t take long to pick up on the inherent victim mentality of those defending the celebration of one color of skin over another.
Girl let us live. You are the actual worst for trying to dampen the celebration of African Americans

As if we needed a reminder that POC are still very much anti-BLACK as hell. Your skin is something but it is not the color brown

It’s weird how self hating asian women are for the most part but they’re so desperate at the same time to be in that ‘POC’ crowd. Odd

Why does it upset you that dark skin black women are feeling good about themselves. Everyone basically shuts them out, constantly putting them at the bottom. Until recently we start to see progress. Take several seats. You aren’t even a dark skin Asian, so why are you mad?

White girl pretending to be brown… Hahahaha

Naturally, President Donald Trump would be dragged into it eventually, as seen in a tweet from actress Yvette Nicole Brown:
And it just KILLED you that black women were celebrating what makes them unique and special, didn’t it? So much so that you had to jump in and turn this into something about trumps brand of “patriotism”. The kind that doesn’t even claim you. Got it. ?
Still we rise and shine.

There were plenty of people responding who were on board with loving their country, as Malkin suggested.
Here’s a sampling of some of those responses from Twitter:
My momma gave me light golden brown skin & kinky, coily hair. I’ve never been ashamed of it or embarrassed by my wide nose, full lips because she also gave me something even more important:
Confidence & self love.

I am not brown skinned, but proud to be an American where my five children do not know the difference between skin colors. They see every person as a unique individual created by God. pic.twitter.com/JPmq8Z9kvn
