During her Sunday night town hall hosted by Fox News, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) tried at one point to go after the very channel giving her a platform to speak to potential voters. Chris Wallace, the night’s host, stopped Gillibrand in her tracks.
Taking questions from the audience, Gillibrand was asked by a retired pediatric nurse to give her thoughts on late-term abortions. Instead of giving a straight forward answer, Gillibrand played word games and went for easy points with leftists by targeting Fox News.

After saying she supports a woman’s choice when it comes to abortion, the senator said women face a “false narrative” today and turned to Wallace and began an anti-Fox News tirade she clearly had prepared from the get-go.
“Chris, I want to talk about the role Fox News plays in this because it’s a problem,” she said. “I can tell you [that] before President Trump gave his State of the Union, Fox News talked about infanticide. Infanticide —”
“Senator, senator,” Wallace interrupted, “I just want to say [that] we brought you here for an hour. We are treating you very fairly. I understand that maybe to make your credentials with the Democrats who are not appearing on Fox News, you’re going to attack us. I’m not sure it’s, frankly, very polite when we have invited you to be here.”
Gillibrand responded by saying she would attack Fox News in “a polite way.”
Wallace hit back by saying, “Why not instead of talking about Fox News, you answer Susan’s question?”
Gillibrand then went on to criticize Fox News for giving infanticide too much coverage.

No matter where you fall on the abortion debate, Gillibrand simplified things to an insufferable degree during her time on Fox News. She is trying to turn abortion into a black and white issue and wave off concerns about late-term abortions. Late-term abortions are a serious concern and, yes, they can be equatable to infanticide.
Look at Kermit Gosnell, the Philadelphia doctor convicted in 2013 on three counts of first-degree murder for giving incredibly late-term abortions. When Gosnell’s trial was occurring, it got almost zero attention from the mainstream media and that is because the media did exactly what Gillibrand is doing: they turned a complicated issue into a black or white or yes or no choice. For Gillibrand to dismiss concerns about late-term abortions shows she is unwilling to move beyond her extremist leftist base to have a real conversation about a serious issue many in the country are clearly concerned about.
As for the town hall, Wallace may be a controversial figure among the right today but good for him for standing up for Fox News. The network has given multiple Democrats at this point major exposure to their massive audience and for these politicians to go on the air and try to score low-hanging fruit leftist points by attacking their host channel, that’s despicable and shows something flawed in both the character their representing and the messaging they are selling.
