Melania’s surprise trip to Walter Reed spurs a wounded vet’s surprise of his own

The day before Independence Day, First Lady Melania Trump made a surprise visit to check on some of the wounded service members who continue to make the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.

Mrs. Trump’s visit to Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Maryland was one of several unannounced trip’s the first lady has taken since igniting a media firestorm after having minor kidney surgery in May.

Photos of the meaningful visit were shared on the First Lady’s Twitter account where Mrs. Trump thanked the “dedicated service members & medical staff.”

The first lady shared several photos, but the one below is with Marine Corps Sgt. John Peck, according to a tweet later posted by NYC Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik.

Kerik had spent time with Peck last weekend and shared the following photo of the back of Peck’s wheelchair that shows two Purple Hearts and a Trump sticker!

It’s not known if Mrs. Trump was aware of the hero Marine’s open support for her husband and family. Reaction to the back-to-back photos evoked immense support for the first lady and our brave veterans.
