Some woman foolishly made fun of the wrong Fox News host’s ‘huge legs’

Dean greets Fox News Channel’s Fox & Friends viewers with an enthusiastic and thorough approach to reporting the national weather. Often engaging people on the street, Dean gives off a down-to-earth air that by many accounts is refreshing – but, not for all.

It seems, even the most cheerful among us, get scores of hurtful criticisms. Fed up with the needless attacks on her appearance, Dean shared some of the ugly feedback she receives on social media to make her point.

In a Fox News op-ed, Dean highlighted one particular post that took aim at the weather anchor’s legs.

“Dear Janice please stop allowing fox to dress you in those short skirts. They are not flattering on you. Your an attractive lady, love the 80’s hair, but your legs are distracting every time you walk on screen.”

Dean shot back:

“Hi JoAnn,

Fox doesn’t dress me. I dress myself. I’m sorry if you don’t like my legs. I’m grateful I have them to walk with. You’re right. I don’t look like the typical person on TV, and I’m proud to be a size 10. Imagine that! You can always turn the channel if you’re offended by my huge legs. Hope you don’t mind. I may share your post with everyone on my FB page. All the best, Janice”

And share her post, Dean did. The ugly criticism and Dean’s classy response has gone viral, prompting the weather anchor to share more personal information.

Dean wrote that she was diagnosed with MS more than 10 years ago, and that the appearance of her legs means nothing compared to the gratefulness she has that they still work!

The beloved meteorologist made it clear that she receives plenty of support from fans as well, especially after she shared the ugly post.

“I was bawling my eyes out Monday night,” Dean wrote of the overwhelming support.

Dean’s first MS nurse, Jen, who’s since become a close friend also had her back and wrote on her Facebook page:

“Dear Janice, I LOVE those strong legs. I LOVE that you stand tall, walk, run, squat, lunge, skip, jump and hop on those legs. You are blessed and a blessing to have STRONG legs!!! Wear skirts proudly and show your STRONG legs!!! Love you my angel”

Dean responded in the op-ed by saying her legs had always been “a sore spot” until she was diagnosed with MS.

“I could lose my ability to walk literally any day. So, I’ve learned to be proud of my legs, and am grateful for them every day of my life.”
