Bill Nye wants blue states to fight back against Trump with ‘economic sanctions’ for climate change

In the end, the progressive left’s totalitarian nature always bubbles to the surface.

Bill Nye, the supposed “Science Guy,” warned conservatives to “watch out” during an appearance Friday on MSNBC, threatening “progressive” states will “start to address climate change” in what amounts to little more than a campaign to undermine the Republican-controlled federal government.

This is much like we see in the current effort to defy President Donald Trump by protecting illegal immigrants who have no right to be in the U.S.

“Only 40 percent of people in the U.S. think Congress should be addressing this and that’s because certain conservative groups, especially from the fossil fuel industry, have been very successful in introducing the idea that scientific uncertainty, plus or minus two percent, is the same as plus or minus 100 percent,” Nye said.

Nye, who holds a degree in mechanical engineering, is on a personal quest to save the world from itself but comes across more like the unhinged liberal ideologue he is.

He was brought on MSNBC in response to a tweet from Trump having a little fun by mocking global warming.

The president tweeted Thursday: “In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!”

Playing on what’s considered a conservative tenet, states rights, Nye said blue states like California and New York may soon start to impose economic penalties on states that fail to adhere to their liberal views on the climate.

“There’s a lot of emphasis from conservatives on what are writ-large states rights,” he added. “Just watch out, conservatives, if states rights include California, Illinois, New York — these places that, where people voted in a progressive fashion — watch out if all those places start to address climate change and then impose economic sanctions, either overtly or by default, on places that have not embraced the work that needs to be done,” he said.

“Then you’ll end up with this states rights working the other way.”

Taking a collective stance, Nye went on to use a slur sure to be politically acceptable, given that it refers to uneducated white folks, calling those who disagree that humans are responsible for the change in weather “hillbillies.”

“We’ve got to remind people that we’re all in this together,” he said. “The people I think about all the time are what are eloquently stated as the hillbillies. We want to engage everybody.”

And he stressed that moral busybodies on the left know best.

“Not working to address climate change is in no one’s best interest. It is not in the best interest, especially of your children and grandchildren,” Nye said.

He rambled on about how the national debt will increase with Trump, comparing it to the increase seen under Ronald Reagan — Nye somehow overlooked the debt doubling under Barack Obama — to then compare it to the “climate debt,” whatever that is.

But then, we’ve already covered his tendency to be a bit unhinged.
