MSNBC has “rebuked” Brian Williams for being “patronizing” to progressive darling Rachel Maddow.
The alleged offense took place earlier this month when Williams, now the breaking news anchor for the network, interrupted “The Rachel Maddow Show” to report on the U.S. missile attack on Syria in response to a chemical attack on civilians, according to Page Six.
At the end of the segment, Williams turned to Maddow and said, “Thanks for visiting tonight. Glad you were a part of our coverage.”

NBC was accused of being “sexist” for having Williams report on the breaking news instead of Maddow.
Williams, who became an internet meme sensation when fired as the anchor of “NBC Nightly News” after he “misremembered” a number of events he had reported on, also came under fire from Maddow’s rabid fan base.
…in part because he described clips of missiles firing as “beautiful pictures at night.”
“We see these beautiful pictures at night from the decks of these two US Navy vessels,” Williams said. “I am tempted to quote the great Leonard Cohen, ‘I am guided by the beauty of our weapons.’ And they are beautiful pictures of fearsome armaments making what is for them a brief flight over this airfield.”
Rachel Maddow would never refer to a Tomahawk launch as "beautiful". What in the ever living hell is Brian Williams doing on her air time?

An anonymous source at the network told Page Six that Williams failed to learn from his earlier embarrassment.
“Not only did Brian go way over the top with his coverage of the missile strike, he then totally patronized Rachel by thanking her for ‘visiting’ her own show and being ‘a part’ of his ‘beautiful’ coverage!” the source said. “Has he not learned anything from ‘Misremember-gate’?”
MSNBC declined to comment, but sources told Page Six network president Phil Griffin was highly upset with Williams’ disdainful treatment of Maddow.
“Phil gave Brian a very stern rebuke, telling him, ‘Don’t you ever do that again.’ But Rachel didn’t seem bothered by it and just laughed it off,” one source said.
If nothing else, the reaction on social media suggests folks do enjoy watching liberals eat their own.
Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:

@PageSix Let’s be real @maddow lovers… She can’t be objective when it comes to @POTUS so to @MSNBC Williams is more hard news (if he doesn’t lie)
