President-elect Donald Trump responded to the violent attack Monday at Ohio State University in a statement posted on Facebook.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the students and administration,” Trump said in the short statement.
He praised the Ohio State University Emergency Management Team for the quick response in notifying students and faculty of the attack and thanked the first responders.
“THANK YOU to all FIRST RESPONDERS who reacted immediately and eliminated the threat on campus,” Trump added.

The man responsible for the attack on others turned out to be a Somali refugee who had legal permanent resident status.
He was identified as 18-year-old OSU student Abdul Razak Ali Artan, according to NBC News.
Trump spoke on Somali refugees coming to the U.S. without being properly vetted during a campaign rally in Minnesota earlier this month, even referencing a knife attack … talk about being prophetic!
