In a report that could be filed under “fundamentally transforming America,” Fox News contributor Pete Hegseth spent some time in Hamtramck, Michigan, the first Muslim-majority city in the United States.

A clear indication of how rapidly demographics are changing in America due to immigration, 90 percent of Hamtramck’s population was of Polish heritage in 1970 — 46 short years ago, according to Fox News. The large Polish population even prompted Pope John Paul II to visit the town in 1987; that population is now down to 11 percent.

Hegseth, a senior counterinsurgency instructor while deployed to Afghanistan with the National Guard, took a look at how Muslim residents — 40 percent of the town’s 22,000 population are immigrants — are assimilating with the community.

He reports on not only how the local government has changed, but also the town’s appearance, and talked with residents about what the future may hold.

It’s truly is an eye-opening report:
