Despite some local residents speaking in support of the way a McKinney police officer handled the incident involving an out-of-control pool party, his own police chief was highly critical of the officer’s actions.
And that cop has now resigned.
With a hysterical media continuing to drive a highly questionable racial component behind the story, McKinney Police Chief Greg Conley spoke at a news conference Tuesday evening and said police Cpl. Eric Casebolt was “out of control” and that his actions were “indefensible.”
“Our policies, our training, our practice, do not support his actions,” Conley said. “He came into the call out of control, and as the video shows, was out of control during the incident.
“I had 12 officers on the scene, and 11 of them performed according to their training. They did an excellent job,” he added.
Conley also announced that an investigation of the incident is underway.
“We’re continuing an investigation,” he said. “We are continuing looking into all the allegations that are being presented to us, and any part of a criminal investigation regarding anyone will take a matter of time for us to work through all those allegations and those people who have come forward to us to complain.”
WFAA TV reporter Rebecca Lopez and other local reporters posted on social media Tuesday that Casebolt’s attorney said the officer has resigned.
The responses on social media to the officer’s resignation reflects the polarization in America over yet another incident of what appears to be trumped up charges of racism.

@rlopezwfaa The young lady deserves an apology, at the very least. This is a good start. Maybe some charges next?! IJS.

@rlopezwfaa if a cop tells you to do something, you do it. Deal with it in court with the judge. Stupid kids
