If ‘President’ Hillary gets her way, ol’ Joe Biden won’t be riding off into the sunset after all

If Hillary Clinton scores a victory on November 8 she is hoping Vice President Joe Biden will transition to a top Cabinet position in her administration.

Biden tops the list of potential candidates for secretary of state, a source close to Clinton’s transition team told Politico on Thursday.

Apparently, Biden is unaware of the news as no one has yet informed him. Though the campaign team maintained its focus is winning on Election Day, it has been busy working on a way to approach the vice president.

“He’d be great, and they are spending a lot of time figuring out the best way to try to persuade him to do it if she wins,”  the source familiar with the transition planning told Politico.

Highly respected among Democrats, Biden chaired the Senate Foreign Relations Committee before joining the Obama administration. Though he would be bringing the experience of a nearly 44-year career in Washington to any position, the six-term former senator also ran against Clinton in the Democratic primaries. He has been campaigning for his former rival in the last few months, however.
