Jill Biden insists wish for holiday ‘joy’ wasn’t a wicked trolling of Kamala

First Lady Jill Biden is once again being accused of firing off digs at Vice President Kamala Harris, this time with her comments about “joy.”

Speculation that Jill Biden is angry with Harris for usurping her husband’s place in the presidential race, then proceeding to lose to President-elect Donald Trump, continues to run rampant. These rumors are fueled by clips shared online that appear to show the first lady giving the cold shoulder to Harris during public appearances such as the Kennedy Center Honors arrival.

People are wondering why the clip above shows Jill Biden not greeting, smiling at, or even acknowledging Harris who is feet away. However, it can be argued that such a short clip leaves out crucial context and can perhaps be misconstrued.

But another clip from Wednesday has social media buzzing, as the first lady appears to mock Harris’s “catchphrase” during her truncated campaign.

“So I hope that you all feel that sense of peace and light and, just for a moment when you leave here today, that you feel… I don’t know. A little- a sense of joy. ‘Cause I think we all need like this, we all need to feel joy now. During this time of the season, during this time. So anyway,” she said.

As the audience begins to laugh, she leans into the microphone and smiles, saying: “You’re all reading into that.”

X users were quick to infer what she meant with her comments:
