The execution was caught on surveillance video.

Marcelino Valerio and his wife had just arrived at their front door after attending a Sweet 16 party. A car dropped them off before the killer on the bike pedaled up and shot the man in the head killing him. The murder occurred at 1209 Ogden Ave. in Highbridge according to police sources. The chilling footage of the murder was obtained by the New York Post.

The shooter had on a black ski mask and was dressed head to toe in black. He rode his bike by at least once evidently waiting for the man to get home. He reportedly shot Valerio twice with one of the shots being point-blank to his head. Nearby patrol officers heard the shots and came running, but Valerio died at the scene according to police.

As the killer took off on his bike, Valerio’s wife staggered in horror and shock over what had just happened. Two screaming women jumped out of the car that dropped them off and immediately tried to get help for the man but it was too late.

Neighbors reported that they were startled by the sound of two or three gunshots and a woman wailing.

“Afterwards I heard a woman screaming. It’s like she was calling out to someone,” said one unidentified local resident, according to the New York Daily News.

Another neighbor named Dania Collado stated that she thought at first the gunshots were fireworks.

“Oh, my God, an 80-year-old man was killed, who would do this? This is crazy,” she lamented, according to the New York Daily News. “I just don’t understand why you would kill an older man like that.”

Another neighbor named Andrew said he was asleep when he heard the gunshots.

“I heard like two or three shots, but it sounded like it was fireworks at first. They were loud,” he remarked. “I’m just shocked. It’s crazy.”

The gunman is still at large and there have been no arrests so far. The motive for the shooting has not been revealed by police yet either.

The elderly man was described by a building superintendent at a previous address as “hard-working” and “calm,” according to the New York Post.

“He wasn’t out in the streets, he was a homebody,” Rafel De Leon, the superintendent, stated. He also noted that Valerio had a wife and daughter.

“No problems ever arose with him. He was a marvelous person,” De Leon remarked concerning Valerio.

The New York Daily News reported, “Just a hours earlier, about 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, a 24-year-old man was shot in the head at W. 22nd St. and Surf Ave. in Coney Island, cops said. He remained in critical condition Sunday.”
