Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is being dragged across social media this weekend for suggesting on Friday that Joe Biden is “a heartbroken president” who is “worried” about his drug-addicted son in the wake of Hunter’s recent indictment.
“I mean, first and foremost, the politics of this are a little hard to predict, but right now you have the president’s son, somebody he loves deeply, somebody who has very publicly struggled with drug addiction, now facing these charges,” Psaki said on Friday’s episode of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

As BizPac Review reported, the first son was hit with three federal charges on Thursday: One count of False Statement in Purchase of a Firearm, one count of False Statement Related to Information Required to be Kept By Federal Firearms Licensed Dealer, and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Person who is an Unlawful User of or Addicted to a Controlled Substance.
The indictment came after Hunter’s sweetheart deal that would have let him avoid trial for the firearms charges if he abided by parole conditions over 24 months and protected him from further prosecution imploded earlier this summer.
If convicted, Hunter could face up to 25 years in prison.

“What is tricky to watch here, and what I think we’ll all be watching is, what do Republicans do with this on the Hill as it relates to their impeachment process baloney efforts, right?” Psaki said. “We didn’t see a lot of that yesterday, a lot of the tying of these charges to their impeachment efforts. If there are additional charges that we see from the Department of Justice that Andrew just alluded to, I suspect they’d try to do that.”
“But right now, what we’re looking at, and I think on the politics of this, you know, millions of Americans have dealt with family members who have dealt with drug addiction, who have dealt with alcohol addiction, who have dealt with a range of addiction,” she continued. “My bet is, right now, this is a heartbroken president in the White House who is worried about his son. We’re all watching to see kind of what happens with this.”
Psaki was promptly dragged on social media for her sugary spin.
“Stop,” one user on X begged. “These people are pathetic. The Biden family is so corrupt. Can you imagine this being a Trump family member?”
“Oh give it up,” another urged Psaki. “There’s no way to spin the treason that’s been done by this man.”
“Spare me!” exclaimed a third.

Others are convinced the president is only “worried” about the possibility of his son flipping on him.
“Heartbroken because he couldn’t cover up Hunter’s crimes or heartbroken because he is next?” asked on X user.
“He’s worried about prison,” another said of Joe Biden. “Give us a break…”
