Hunter Biden has just been slapped with three felony counts connected to his lying about being on drugs when he bought a gun, conveniently steering clear of implicating President Biden in any of his misdeeds.

Hunter Biden has been charged with one count of False Statement in Purchase of a Firearm, one count of False Statement Related to Information Required to be Kept By Federal Firearms Licensed Dealer, and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Person who is an Unlawful User of or Addicted to a Controlled Substance, according to ABC News.
Special Counsel David Weiss filed the federal gun charges on Thursday in a move that could boomerang on the president and eventually take him out of the 2024 presidential race. But Democrats are doing their damndest to contain the collateral damage and make the first son take the hit by himself.
The indictment contends that Hunter Biden lied about his drug use when he purchased a gun in 2018.
“A Delaware grand jury returned multiple felony charges against Hunter, including two counts of false statements on his gun forms, and one of possessing a firearm while addicted to illicit drugs,” the Daily Mail reported.

“The move by Weiss is a significant escalation in his investigation into the president’s son for gun and tax crimes. It comes the same week that Republicans in the House opened a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden for his alleged connections to Hunter’s business dealings,” the media outlet continued.
Hunter Biden could get 25 years if convicted in court. But no one really believes that will happen. Many conservatives see the charges as an effort to distract from President Biden’s impeachment inquiry and believe he will never serve a day in jail.
They’re allowing the firearm charge on Hunter Biden to proceed because it’s the only thing that doesn’t implicate daddy Joe. Don’t expect the same penalty applied to Hunter.

The indictment follows a plea deal for Hunter Biden imploding earlier this summer that would have let him avoid trial for the firearms charges if he abided by parole conditions over 24 months. And it would have prevented him from being further prosecuted, something the judge just couldn’t stomach.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made a big show on July 27 of the president ruling out a pardon for his son.

The indictment is meant to create a great deal of smoke as Republicans dig deeper into Joe and Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings that reek of corruption involving over a dozen shell companies allegedly paying millions to Biden family members… some of them children.
“House Republicans have uncovered serious and credible allegations into President Biden’s conduct,” House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said during a press briefing at the Capitol on Tuesday. “Taken together these allegations paint a picture of a culture of corruption.”
“These are allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption. And they warrant further investigation by the House of Representatives. That’s why today I am directing our House committee to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden,” he announced.
Conservatives see right through the indictment as Biden attempts to not only tell the media how to cover his impeachment inquiry but is now blowing smoke to distract everyone from it:

Today’s charges against Hunter Biden are a very small start, but unless U.S. Attorney Weiss investigates everyone involved in the fraud schemes and influence peddling, it will be clear President Biden’s DOJ is protecting Hunter Biden and the big guy.
