Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie has received media saturation coverage with his near-daily appearances to wage his attacks on former President Donald J. Trump and the current frontrunner hit him back where it hurts.
On a day that the former New Jersey governor appeared on MSNBC, taking his Trump-bashing act to the left-wing cable network and its rabid Democrat audience, the embattled former president once again proved that he can deflate an opponent with one razor-sharp barb which he did by trolling the morbidly obese ABC News pundit in a way that only he can.
At a Tuesday rally in Windham, New Hampshire, his first since his arraignment on charges brought by special counsel Jack Smith last week, Trump delivered his usual crowd-pleasing address and just couldn’t resist needling Christie over his girth.

As Trump was talking about his massive lead against the other GOP contenders and naming names, a member of the audience shouted out “How about Christie?”
“No, Christie’s…he’s eating right now. He can’t be bothered,” Trump replied as the crowd cracked up.
He then gestured at the audience and said, “Sir, please do not call him a fat pig.” It’s unclear whether someone used the unflattering name as a reference to Christie or if Trump was just ad-libbing.
”That’s very disrespectful. Don’t call him…see, I’m, I’m trying to be nice. Don’t call him a fat pig. You can’t, can’t do that. So now, because you’re not allowed to do that, and therefore we’re not going to do it, okay? We want to be very civil.”
Trump has often taken digs at his Republican adversary over his weight such as ruthlessly jabbing him on the night that the former federal prosecutor launched his campaign at New Hampshire’s St. Anselm College by posting a doctored video to his Truth Social platform of Christie delivering his speech while standing in a buffet line and hoisting an overflowing plate of food in one of his hands.

The posting of the altered video isn’t the first time that Trump has used a buffet theme to mock Christie. Last year, he shared a picture of the former governor at what he said was a Roy Rogers restaurant in a Truth Social posting.
Christie has punched back at Trump’s weight jokes, using his prosecutor skills to infer to all overweight Americans that they are also being insulted.
“Like he’s some Adonis?” Christie told Fox News host Howard Kurtz in June, referring to the Greek god of beauty and desire. “Howie, there are tens of millions of Americans, out in your audience, watching right now, who like me have struggled with their weight. I continue to struggle. I continue to try to do better, and so do they,”
So Trump is some Adonis now? Fabio’s lost twin brother? Get real.
Like millions of Americans, I too have struggled with my weight.

“I don’t know what his point is. You know what it is? It’s like a child,” he added. “It’s a bully on the schoolyard who teases you and makes fun of you. But here’s my message to him: I don’t care what he says about me, and I don’t care what he thinks about me. And he should take a look in the mirror every once in a while, maybe he’d drop the weight thing off of his list of criticisms.”
