Vice President Kamala Harris rejected an invitation from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to meet for a discussion of the state’s new history teaching standards, curriculum that she has repeatedly distorted and continues to do so.
During a fiery speech at an event in Orlando, the veep quadrupled down on the big lie with her snubbing of the governor and used some of her boss, President Joe Biden’s hateful name-calling to refer to Republican political adversaries as “extremists,” much to the delight of the largely black crowd who enthusiastically cheered her words.
Understandably weary of the false narrative that has been used to smear him by Democrats, the media and even his fellow Republicans, the Sunshine State governor graciously offered to meet with Harris and Dr. William Allen, an African-American civil rights scholar who helped to craft the new standards.

On Tuesday, Harris spoke at the AME Church Quadrennial Convention where she stuck with her distorted version of the truth in a racially-charged rant that will serve to burnish her cred with the base as the 2024 election season approaches. She continued gaslighting the gullible by blowing one sentence out of proportion so as to falsely claim that the entire curriculum promotes the idea that slavery was a pretty good thing for some black people.
Harris used the occasion to also mix in another of the left’s lies, that DeSantis has banned books, misleading the audience about the governor’s efforts to get vile homosexual pornography out of classrooms and school libraries where it was available to young and impressionable children. Books that are readily available for purchase with no restrictions wherever such material is sold.
“In this moment, we even see extremists ban books and attempt to erase and even rewrite the ugly parts of our history,” Harris said. “Right here in Florida…right here in Florida, they plan to teach students that enslaved people benefited from slavery.”
“They insult us in an attempt to gaslight us in an attempt to divide and distract our nation with unnecessary debates. And now they attempt to legitimize these unnecessary debates with a proposal that most recently came in, of a politically motivated roundtable,” Harris continued, raising her voice to emphasize her words, pausing as the audience expressed its approval.
“Well, I’m here in Florida,” the crowd cheered as she dialed up her shrillness. “And I will tell you, there is no roundtable, no lecture, no invitation we will accept to debate an undeniable fact: there were no redeeming qualities of slavery.”
“And as I said last week when I was again here in Florida: We will not stop calling out and fighting back against extremist so-called leaders who try to prevent our children from learning our true and full history,” she said to more applause.
In a Monday letter to Harris, DeSantis warmly invited her to join him and Dr. Allen to educate her on the truth, something that she has consistently shown she has little regard for.

“Now, it may only have been a falsehood the first time she stated it,” Dr. Allen stated during a recent appearance on Fox News. “But when you repeat a falsehood, it becomes a lie.”
