The rise of artificial intelligence may be of concern for some but for those who have difficulty finding sexual partners, the world is opening up.
Mo Gawdat, former chief business officer for Google’s secret R&D arm X, claims that AI will soon have the power to completely redefine the nature of relationships and sexual intercourse. If you think deep-fakes are too real for comfort, wait until your son comes home with a state-of-the-art Lovebot 5000.
The combined power of AI and virtual reality will all but eliminate the need to find a real, human partner.
“Just think about all of the illusions that we’re now unable to decipher,” Gawdat said in a segment with Tom Bilyeu of the YouTube “Impact Theory” podcast.
“But if we can convince you that this sex robot is alive, or that sex experience in a virtual reality headset or an augmented reality headset is alive, it’s real, then there you go,” he added.
He then theorized a step further, invoking Elon Musk’s Neuralink.
“If we think a few years further and think of Neuralink and other ways of connecting directly to your nervous system, and why would you need another being in the first place?”
After all, real-life relationships are “messy” Gawdat said, suggesting that the difference between a real human being and an artificially generated person is negligible, if you just use your imagination.
“Once again there is that huge debate of whether they are sentient or not. Does it really matter if they’re simulating sentientism so well?” he asked. “Does it really matter if the Morgan Freeman talking to you on the screen is actually Morgan Freeman or an AI generated avatar, if you’re convinced that it is Morgan Freeman?”
“We get lost in those conversations of are they alive are they sentient, doesn’t matter if my brain believes they are, they are.”
