The hairdresser behind the video post of “poolside Karen’s” viral tirade came out in defense of the footage after the “belligerently crazy” Coloradan had attempted to tell her side of the story.
Recently, 49-year-old Blair Featherman’s behavior at Lakewood, Colorado’s Alta Green Mountain apartment complex swimming pool left her confronting accusations of racism. After trying to dismiss those assertions by decrying the video of her rant as “deceptively edited,” witnesses spoke up with their side of the story.
Among them was Jada Gallardo, whose guests appeared to be the focus of Featherman’s ire in the video she was responsible for posting to social media.
“The footage is little bits and pieces of her screaming and yelling, but all the videos include Ms. Featherman acting belligerently crazy,” the hairdresser told the New York Post.
Previously, the art consultant at the center of the controversy had spoken with the Daily Mail and contended that Gallardo’s video did not capture the entirety of the story.
“I have been trying to stay silent and not comment about this, but there are things the video doesn’t show,” Featherman said. “I’m not a racist. It was deceptively edited and put together to tell a narrative that isn’t true.”

According to Gallardo, the footage where Featherman could be heard saying “You have a f*cking Mexican party in a pool. Trash,” had been captured by a 13-year-old girl at the pool before the woman could be seen knocking the phone from her hands. She also repeated some of the comments that could be heard in the video noting, “She said we don’t know what Hermés sandals are.”
“I said, ‘I’m wearing Hermés sandals! Just because [of] our skin tone we don’t know what an expensive designer is?'” the hairdresser told the Post. “She was screaming, ‘Low-class Mexicans!’ …A lot of people were getting mad.”
Gallardo wasn’t alone in defending reports of how the poolside incident played out as another witness to Featherman’s behavior, Melanie Rangel-Olmedo, spoke with the outlet and claimed, “[Featherman] kept saying ‘trash.’ … One father took his two daughters back home because he didn’t want them to hear the things that she was saying.”
What wasn’t captured by the video, and a detail Gallardo admitted she did not witness, was a physical altercation that was said to have occurred between Featherman and another woman. However, Gallardo did say, “There was a big wad of brown hair [on the ground after].”
In that part of the story, Featherman claimed “one woman clawed at her so violently that her artificial nails broke off” and she was later seen holding them. “I have heard people assuming they’re pills that I am holding in my hand, but it’s actually her nails that I’m showing her.”
Featherman also argued that she had been goaded into her response and accused the partiers of calling her a “white b*tch.”
