Top House Oversight Republican wants answers on ‘unacceptable’ cocaine in the White House

A top House Republican wants answers on the bag of cocaine that was found in the White House, a story that has lingered in the news cycle much to the dismay of the Biden regime and its lackeys in the media who have spent days trying to spin it away from implicating Hunter Biden who has taken up residence in the building.

On Friday, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) sent a strongly worded letter to Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle requesting that his committee be briefed on the discovery by agents of the suspicious white power that led to a brief evacuation of the White House on Sunday and tested positive as the illegal narcotic drug, setting off a media firestorm and days of changing stories about where the substance was found.

“The presence of illegal drugs in the White House is unacceptable and a shameful moment in the White House’s history,” the Kentucky Republican wrote. “According to reports, USSS agents discovered a suspicious white powder inside the White House, prompting an evacuation of White House staff and personnel. The substance has since been confirmed to be cocaine.”

“Congress funds White House security procedures, and the Secret Service has a responsibility to maintain effective safety protocols,” the congressman said. “This incident and the eventual evacuation of staff now clearly raises concerns about the level of security maintained at the White House.”

“This incident has raised additional concerns with the Committee regarding the level of security maintained at the White House, “the letter reads. “In order to assist the Committee with its investigation, please provide a staff level briefing on this matter by July 14, 2023.”

Since the story first broke during the long Fourth of July weekend, details on where exactly the bag was spotted have shifted on a near-daily basis with the most recent report by NBC News reporting that it was located in a “cubby near the White House’s West Executive entrance, not the formal West Wing lobby as was previously reported,” and that the “entrance is near where some vehicles, like the vice president’s limo or SUV park. It is one floor below the main West Wing offices and the same floor as the Situation Room and a dining area.”

With the cocaine mystery having been nearly a week in the headlines and no signs that it’s going away, especially with Comer and Republicans revving up, tempers are understandably short and White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre cracked under questioning during Friday’s daily press briefing, rudely snapping at reporter Caitlin Doornbos of the New York Post who tried to pin her down on whether her boss and his progeny were the rightful owners of the bag of blow.

“You know, there has been some irresponsible reporting about the family. And so I’ve got to call that out here. And I have been very clear. I was clear two days ago when talking about this over and over again as I was being asked the question,” the perturbed Jean-Pierre said, flustered over being put on the spot about the possibility that the Bidens have white line fever.

“As you know, and media outlets reported this, the Biden family was not here. They were not here. They were at Camp David. They were not here Friday. They were not here Saturday. They were not here Sunday. They were not even here Monday. They came back on Tuesday. So to ask that question is actually incredibly irresponsible. And I’ll just leave it there,” she said.

“Obviously, there are a lot of explanations that could be made for what happened there. But you know, at the end of the day, with all the money and all the security that we have around the White House, something like this should never happen,” Comer said during a Wednesday Fox News appearance.
