Fellow graduates at the ceremony overshadowed by an OnlyFans model’s mic-snatching “moment” recounted a far different experience than their unapologetic peer.
Though initially unclear, the viral video of Kadia Iman was confirmed to have occurred at the ceremony for the City University of New York’s (CUNY) LaGuardia Community College. While the explosive display from the grad garnered attention, and likely traction on her social media pages, other female black honorees decried her behavior, going so far as to say she only did it “because it was a little white old lady.”
“I was in the graduation,” explained TikTok user Glam Stoney Boutique. “There were two long lines and we were told to say our names when we approached the lady in the video. But she didn’t know any of our names — whether they were long or short.”

“Basically there were some people who said some extra things in addition to their names, but they weren’t racist,” she continued of the event volunteers. “There were a lot of people of all races there. We were just told to say our first and last names.”
Confessing to straying from the guidelines, further dismantling Iman’s claim, the graduate added, “I said ‘I love my mama’ and another girl who was before me who was also a chocolate girl said ‘Big up Jamaica!'”
As previously reported, no sooner had Iman stepped up to the microphone to announce herself, she was wrestling it away from the volunteer, shouting, “I want the mic! Let go! You didn’t let me get my moment.”
“I’m graduating today. I don’t like how you snatched the mic out of my hand, so today is going to be all about me!” she added before slamming it to the ground.

“That video is a little hard to watch. I too graduated from [LaGuardia] yesterday. I was there. Everyone had the opportunity to say their first and last name. No one said anything more, no one said anything less,” another TikToker explained. “The young lady, I understand it was her moment but she went about it the wrong way. No one was discriminated against or racially profiled her. She handled it very poorly. I’m sorry she felt like she had a bad experience. This was the only issue all day. The ceremony was great.”
After the video went viral, Imam took to Instagram and doubled down on her actions. “To everyone saying I should be embarrassed.. or I’ll never get a job…I’m a black woman in America I am always in the right…u will not gaslight me into thinking I’m The bad guy I did it for girls that look lie me love u.”
Manny Romero, Vice President of Communications and External Affairs for LaGuardia, issued a statement on behalf of the school that read in part, “We regret that the student’s disruptive and inappropriate behavior impacted the celebration for graduates and guests.. Her mistreatment of a staff volunteer was unacceptable.”
“We are currently reviewing the incident to gain a better understanding of what occurred and what we might do in the future to prevent something like this from happening again,” he said and noted, “Our June 21st Commencement was a culmination of a lot of hard work and collaboration from LaGuardia faculty and staff volunteers who created a welcoming space for graduates to be recognized and for them to celebrate with their loved ones.”
“At LaGuardia, we take pride in providing our students with the academic, emotional, and developmental support they need to be successful inside and outside of the classroom,” Romero said. “We also encourage a safe and respectful learning and working environment for our students, faculty, and staff.”
There appeared to be no threat of disciplinary action against Iman, leading to further criticism.
The reason why people act like this is because cowards coddle and applaud this behavior. But in your minds, you know it’s wrong. Just say it.

Does it worry society that she thinks she will have not trouble finding a job because “she’s black woman in America” and “she is always in the right” and not based on her qualifications?

Normally that’s how you blow the best job opportunities. But this is 2023. She’ll be offered an even better job. Called Brave and Strong. A Queen even.
