Chris Christie attacks Ivanka, Jared at campaign rollout; Trump hits with fat-shaming buffet video

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie officially declared his presidential campaign on Tuesday and immediately demonstrated exactly why he has been showered with love by the Trump-hating media, going on the attack against former President Donald J. Trump and his family right off the bat.

During his launch speech, the ABC News pundit whose job is to be a kamikaze pilot who will inflict maximum damage on the 2024 GOP frontrunner, didn’t disappoint his fans, repeatedly raging against Trump and dragging his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner into the muck as well.

In his rant to a crowd at New Hampshire’s St. Anselm College, a symbolic location for being the same venue that hosted Trump’s CNN town hall last month, Christie said that the ex-POTUS “made us smaller by dividing us even further” and took his cheap shot at the Kushners.

“Let me tell you something, everybody,” he said. “The grift from this is breathtaking. It’s breathtaking. Jared Kushner and Ivanka Kushner walk out of the White House and months later get $2 billion from the Saudis?” Christie said. “Two billion dollars from the Saudis. You think it’s ’cause some kind of investing genius? Or do you think it’s because he was sitting next to the president of the United States for four years doing favors for the Saudis?”

“Beware of the leader who has never made a mistake, who has never done anything wrong, when something goes wrong it’s someone else’s fault and who has never lost. I’ve lost. You did that to me in 2016,” he said, referring to his butt-kicking in the Granite State’s 2016 primary. “A lonely, self-consumed, self-serving mirror hog is not a leader.”

Trump’s epic retort also conjured up the image of a hog, a brutal doctored video of Christie delivering his speech while brandishing an overflowing plate of food in front of an all-you-can-eat buffet that he posted to social media.

The video was created by social media users @NautPoso and @drefanzor who had previously posted it to Twitter.

“How many times did Chris Christie use the word SMALL? Does he have a psychological problem with SIZE? Actually, his speech was SMALL, and not very good. It rambled all over the place, and nobody had a clue of what he was talking about. Hard to watch, boring, but that’s what you get from a failed Governor (New Jersey) who left office with a 7% approval rating and then got run out of New Hampshire. This time, it won’t be any different!” Trump wrote in another Truth Social post, spanking his former ally.

The posting of the altered video isn’t the first time that Trump has used a buffet theme to mock Christie. Last September he shared a picture of the former governor at what he said was a Roy Rogers restaurant.

“I can’t guarantee you success, but I can guarantee you that at the end of it, you will have no doubt in your mind who I am and what I stand for and whether I deserve it,” Christie told his audience. “That’s why I came back to New Hampshire to tell all of you that I intend to seek the Republican nomination for President of the United States in 2024.”
