‘Terrifying’: Man says he was banned from Facebook for sharing this news article ‘excerpt’ from 1950s textbook

The lengths taken by Big Tech to control the flow of information left one man redoubling his efforts after getting pushed off social media for sharing a decades-old letter on the “diabolic nightmare” of overturning democracy that “has become an emerging reality.”

By now, acts of social media suppression and the institutions behind them have been well-documented, particularly through the “Twitter Files.” Over a year since taking the brunt of extreme censorship after getting booted from Facebook, investor Chad Jones of Massachusetts spoke to Fox News Digital about how his, and the resolve of countless others, has only been strengthened by digital tyranny.

“The silent majority is no longer silent like they used to be,” he said.

Jones explained that in May 2022, he had shared a letter attributed to an 85-year-old retired California judge that suggested many of the troubles seen in society today had been laid out as early as the 1950s to detail the steps needed to “overturn a democracy.”

“I went MIA on social media for a while for sharing some pretty innocuous things,” he said, though only the letter was provided as an example. “The idea that they’re stifling voices as part of the normal course of business is terrifying.”

Said to have been penned by retired judge Keith M. Alber in 2021 to The Epoch Times, the letter summarized the contents of an unspecified political science textbook that he suggested “was printed in 1954 as a possible diabolic nightmare [that] has become an emerging reality.”

A series of nine steps “to overturn a democracy” were laid out that included: “divide the nation philosophically,” “foment racial strife,” “swarm the nation’s borders indiscriminately and unconstitutionally,” “encourage civil rioting and discourage accountability for all crime,” as well as weakening the military, building distrust in police, over-taxation and controlling elections and media.

Alber said to Snopes in 2022, “I thought, ‘That could never happen. That would be a nightmare.’ And it would be disastrous for this country if that ever did happen. Years later, when it was happening, the attempt to achieve those goals was a reality. I became very alarmed…I don’t know, I just feel [the current state of the country is] a very sad comment on the public being so dumb.”

The post was reportedly shared over 11,000 times by mid-May 2022 even with Jones getting booted from Facebook and losing access to it himself. “When I looked at the letter, it really struck me as a variation of Saul Alinsky’s ‘Rules for Radicals,'” he explained.

“The whole basis is to tear down our system and build something new and different, something not aligned with our traditional American concepts of individual freedom and personal liberty,” the investor continued and added, “It seems that silencing voices in the electronic town square falls right in line with what Alber wrote about.”

After years of experiencing silencing on social media through shadowbans, suspensions, censorship and deactivation on pressing matters like COVID, election integrity, education and the health and well-being of children, Jones suggested many are done with waiting for elected officials to do the right thing.

“They’re no longer willing just to take their opinions silently to the voting booth,” he told Fox News Digital. “There are millions of us out there now fighting the effort to silence debate.”

While he went on to create a new account to return to Facebook, Jones said he’d like to get his original profile back. “The one thing I do miss are the pictures, the memories, the reunion photos. I can’t get back any of it. That kind of sucks.”

He concluded, “It’s all a little scary because I have kids. What kind of world will they be inheriting if we don’t fight back?”
