Fox News anchor accuses Congressman of squirming around questions on FBI probes in testy exchange

Fox News host Arthel Neville appeared to put the screws to a congressional Oversight Committee member Sunday regarding the investigation into then-Vice President Joe Biden’s alleged criminal bribery scheme.

“I mean, you’re doing a really good job of sort of squirming around my questions.”

After the process to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress for failing to abide by a subpoena had begun, the agency agreed to present the requested, unclassified document along with a briefing last week. House Oversight Committee member Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas) joined Neville to discuss the investigation and expectations when she suggested the outcome of the review had been predetermined.

Following a question on what would happen if the unverified claims in the “highly credible” whistleblower testimony recorded on the FD-1023 document confirmed suspicions that Biden had been involved in influence peddling, the host flipped the argument around. “If it disproves and dispels allegations, will that exonerate then-Vice President Biden?”

“Oh no. Not at all,” Fallon contended after the lengthy effort to arrange a review of the testimony for the investigation. “It’s just one document. It’s one claim. There are so many others…we’re going where the evidence leads us.”

Neville continued with a leading question on the credibility of the FBI as it pertained to separate investigations of Biden and former President Donald Trump, to which Fallon responded, “Of course, you hope so. But you also don’t want to see a two-tiered justice system where one party is protected, and the other one is exposed and thrown under the bus, if you will.”

When the Texas lawmaker suggested the agency had been shown to be weaponized and voiced his concerns that the allegations in the FD-1023 may not have been investigated, Neville charged, “So, congressman, I mean, you’re doing a really good job of sort of squirming around my questions.”

“What I see you setting up, quite frankly,” she accused, “is that if this document doesn’t give you the evidence that you’re looking for, then you gotta keep digging. Even if it does, you’re gonna keep digging. So it seems like no matter what is in this document, no matter what the FBI does or doesn’t do, they’re political.”

“So it just is going to have this malaise of just confusion that will keep going and going and going. And I think that the American public would like to get some firm answers and not to have this process. If you’re saying the FBI is politicized, let’s not even politicize the process,” the host argued.

As previously reported, the individual responsible for the testimony said to reveal “a precise description of how the alleged criminal scheme was employed as well as its purpose,” was said to have been an FBI source dating back to President Barack Obama’s administration, “consistently reviewed by the FBI” and “found to be highly credible.”

Reacting to Neville’s charge, Fallon insisted he was open to whatever the FBI would be presenting Monday and if the claims had been investigated, “for this particular instance, I’ll be more than happy to say the FBI did their due diligence on this FD-1023 form.”

On that note, he reminded the host that their reluctance to provide the document was only one part of the investigation into Biden as well as other investigations into alleged weaponization of the federal government that began when Republicans took control of the House.
