CNN talking head Kirsten Powers let it slip, saying the quiet part out loud, that if Republicans would just shut up they wouldn’t get censored on social media platforms such as YouTube which shouldn’t tolerate “false” information.
“If there is some sort of huge riot, then the first platform that’s going to move, which is YouTube, is the one that we’re going to look at and say, ‘What did we do here?'” CNN media analyst Sara Fischer asked during the “CNN Primetime” segment.
“Yes. But they can’t put the genie back in the bottle,” Powers answered lamely with Fischer robotically acknowledging that she was right.
“Once it’s out, it’s out there. And so, if the problem is that, ‘Oh, people aren’t going to be able to upload things that Republicans are saying,’ maybe Republicans should stop saying it, right? Is that not the solution to the problem? So, I think that — look, I support free speech, and I don’t think we want to silence political speech. But this company does have responsibility. And that’s not a violation of free speech to say, ‘We’re not going to allow you to upload information that is demonstrably false,'” Powers asserted.

The statement by Powers could be called fascist in its sentiment which is ironic coming from the left who insists that all Republicans are fascists.
Almost eight years ago Powers released a book titled, “The Silencing: How the Left is Killing Free Speech.” Perhaps she should review her own work.

Powers was scorched by the response of conservatives on Twitter over her pro-censorship sentiment:

Always a bad sign when the expert set can’t figure out how to counter 4chan-tier troll messaging except through censorship. If a leader can’t outsmart the counter signal except through tyrannical action, then that leader shouldn’t be in power. We are being led off a cliff by…

It makes perfect sense. Forcibly silencing your opponents speech for democracy. Everyone knows if there are people you don’t like saying things you don’t like you must silence them for freedom

Right? The solution to censorship is for the people who fear being censored to simply shut up…

I’m old enough to remember when Powers published a book excoriating the Left for demonizing conservatives and trying to shut down opinions with which they disagree.

Woman who wrote a book on the left’s silencing of speech now wants to silence speech. Her turn to full-on fascist is complete. Congrats @KirstenPowers

Communists are getting easier to spot all the time. Why? Because they have no fear now. Almost zero pushback.
This is how culture wars and eventually entire nations are lost.
