Former President Trump slammed his former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany after she spoke on Fox News’ Jesse Watters “Primetime” Tuesday, calling her milquetoast for reciting poll numbers he contended were wrong and asserting that the “globalists can have her.”

McEnany told Watters that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) was closing in on Trump in Iowa according to the polls.
“The DeSantis team would say, you know, ‘We just had polling come out that shows we closed the gap by 9 points since we announced in Iowa.’ Still, Trump’s hugely ahead, but they say they’re closing the gap. That’s their argument,” she stated.
“If you look at the polling now, it was Trump 34 in Iowa, it’s now Trump 25,” she added. “That’s double digits.”
“Kayleigh ‘Milktoast’ McEnany just gave out the wrong poll numbers on FoxNews,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I am 34 points up on DeSanctimonious, not 25 up. While 25 is great, it’s not 34.”
“She knew the number was corrected upwards by the group that did the poll,” he charged. “The RINOS & Globalists can have her. FoxNews should only use REAL Stars!!!”
It is not clear which poll Trump and McEnany were referring to. A recent survey from Emerson College Polling showed the former president leading DeSantis by 42 points among Iowa voters. RealClearPolitics is showing Trump up 30.8 points over DeSantis currently.
Following less than stellar midterms for the Republicans, McEnany reportedly told Trump in November that he should put his presidential campaign “on pause.” Earlier in May, Trump accused her of speaking “favorably about DeSanctimonious.” She has supported the former president for years but now there appears to be a widening rift between the two over DeSantis.
Mediaite is claiming that “McEnany tried to ‘actively avoid’ Trump following his 2020 election defeat because he ‘wanted her to talk about Dominion.’”
Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) spoke with McEnany Tuesday night while she subbed on “The Ingraham Angle.” He was there to discuss the debt ceiling negotiations but could not resist trolling her a bit about Trump’s comments.

“Starting with you, Congressman Chip Roy, what is the realistic alternative to this?” McEnany asked Roy. “Because I understand we wouldn’t formally default. We could pay the interest on our debt, but our debt could be downgraded and that could be catastrophic. So what is the realistic alternative to this deal?”
“First of all, you know, everything that we’re seeing out of the bill that’s been put forward, this deal hatched this weekend is pretty milquetoast if that word might mean something to you,” Roy quipped, taking aim at Trump’s slam.
Roy who is a member of the House Freedom Caucus and detests the deal Republicans are striking over the debt ceiling said the alternative is “simple.”
“You have $28 or $29 billion in COVID funds,” he noted. “You have $80 billion in IRS money. All of us agreed it should go away. The number one thing we campaigned on was getting rid of that IRS money.”
He asserted that the nation shouldn’t “pile on to post-COVID expanded government.”
In an interview with Glenn Beck on “BlazeTV” Tuesday morning, Roy called the debt limit deal a “betrayal of the power-sharing arrangement that we put in place.” At a minimum, Roy contends that the deal would add $4 trillion in debt without any significant spending cuts.
Rep. @chiproytx SLAMS the McCarthy/Biden debt ceiling deal as a “complete and total SELLOUT of everything” Republicans accomplished in the January speaker fight and tells me if it passes, “we’re going to have to regroup and figure out the whole leadership arrangement again.” pic.twitter.com/d6jjnvoApD

Chip Roy on fire:
“Not one Republican should vote for this deal. It is a bad deal. No one sent us here to borrow an additional 4 trillion dollars to get absolutely nothing in return… There will be a reckoning about what just occurred unless we stop this bill.” pic.twitter.com/DXBFFl6oCn

Why I will oppose the #DebtCeiling “deal.” It’s not a good deal. Some $4 Trillion in debt for – at best – a two year spending freeze and no serious substantive policy reforms. #NoDeal pic.twitter.com/C73fjSA2Fr

McEnany never acknowledged Roy’s “milquetoast” remark but it did add levity to the discussion for those paying attention.
