‘Cruel practice’: Candace Owens gives Khloe Kardashian kudos for speaking out on difficult journey of child surrogacy

Controversial conservative Candace Owens weighed in on Khloe Kardashian’s recent admission that she is having difficulty bonding with her son, Tatum, because she, like her big sister Kim, used a surrogate, calling the entire practice of surrogacy “unethical” and likening it to turning tricks for cash.

In a series of backhanded compliments, Owens “applauded” Khloe for speaking out about the “evil” thing she had done for the sake of “vanity.”

“I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby and then I take the baby and I go to another room,” Khloe told Kim on a recent episode of “The Kardashians,” as media personality Scott Disick listened and tried not to crack jokes.

“It’s a mindf*ck,” Khloe said of surrogacy.

“Kim said hers was easy,” she said. “This was not easy.”

Owens, who welcomed her second child into the world the traditional way last year,  wrote on Twitter that she was “grateful” that Khloe shared her troubles.

“I am grateful that @khloekardashian has shone a light on the unethical practice of surrogacy,” she wrote. “Purchasing and taking a newborn from its mothers arms a mere seconds after birth is an unspeakable evil. Breeders do not even do it to animals.”

Owens devoted much of her latest podcast to the subject, calling the women who act as surrogates “disgusting” whores.

“Women that are signing up to be surrogates,” Owens said, “it is so disgusting to think about why.”

“It’s because they need the money,” she continued. “Women that are selling their eggs are doing this because they need the money, and of course, there’s a rich person that says, ‘I have the money and I’m willing to allow you to use your body.'”

“It is almost the worst form of prostitution on the planet,” she stated. “Way worse than the transaction of a woman selling her body for one night of sex to get money. You are selling your body for 10 months, and you are going through a spiritual process of feeling a baby grow inside of you, right? And that is something that is inexplicable. It is inexplicable the connection that you feel to a child that is in your womb.”

Surrogacy, in Owens’ estimation, is “demonic.”

“When you consider surrogacy — especially surrogacy for the sake of surrogacy — there is something demonic about it, right?” she said. “When you are doing it not because you can’t have a child, even worse, right?”

“Khloe Kardashian is able to have a child,” she stated. “She has a daughter, True, who she grew inside of her own body, and simply because she wanted for her daughter, True, to have a 100 percent biological sibling, but she was not willing to have sex with the serial cheater Tristan Thompson — that’s what happened, she didn’t want to have sex with him again to produce a second child — she decided to borrow and purchase some other woman’s body.”

“And it’s a horrible way of stating it,” Owens admitted, “and I again want to assign her all the credit in the world for speaking out on it, but she is correct in her assessments that there is something wrong with this. That because she is rich, she purchased another woman’s body for 10 months.”

In a follow-up tweet, Owens said the whole thing makes her “sick.”

“My heart breaks for women who— for money—submit their bodies to this cruel practice,” she wrote. “It is the highest paying form of prostitution and that there are wealthy women who subject poorer women to this cruelty out of vanity and not necessity makes me sick.”

Her point was not made without a significant amount of pushback.

Another user took a more level-headed approach to the delicate subject.

“My mom loved being pregnant, creating life. She always wanted to be a surrogate to give the gift of a family with children to a family that couldn’t have children. She even said she would strongly urge my sister to let her be her surrogate when it seemed my sister couldn’t conceive,” the user wrote. “I’m not 100% comfortable with the idea and I think there is a lot of room for abuse but some people just really want to do a good thing in the world. She obviously would have done it for free for my sister and probably wouldn’t have charged anyone else bc it was never something she wanted to do for money, just to help another family.”

But others were supportive of Owens’ stance.
