Hillary throws Joe Biden under the bus: ‘His age is an issue’

Failed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton admitted over the weekend that President Biden’s advanced age “is an issue” in the 2024 election, but then proved that maintaining power for the Democratic Party takes precedence over what’s good for the country in urging voters to support him anyway.

“There was that heart-stopping moment when he almost fell over coming down the stairs a day or two ago,” editor Edward Luce said at the Financial Times Weekend Festival in Washington. “He didn’t use a railing, and Jill wasn’t there with him.”

“Every time that happens, your heart is in your mouth because these things could be consequential. Is that a concern?” he asked.

“It’s a concern for anyone. We’ve had presidents who had fallen before who were a lot younger, and people didn’t go into heart palpitations,” Clinton replied. “But his age is an issue, and people have every right to consider it.”

“But, you know, he has this great saying – and I think he’s right – don’t judge him for running against the Almighty but against the alternative,” she continued. “I am of the camp that I think he’s determined to run; he has a good record that, three years ago, people would not have predicted would have gotten done.”

“He doesn’t get the credit yet for what is happening out in the country in terms of jobs and growth and planning for the future with CHIPS and other stuff,” Clinton said. “So, I obviously hope he stays very focused and able to compete in the election because I think he can be re-elected, and that’s what we should all hope for.”

Not exactly a ringing endorsement, but an endorsement nonetheless.

Just last week, Biden made his age an issue when he repeated a whopper of a lie in telling US forces stationed in Japan that his son Beau was “lost” in the Iraq War — his son served in Iraq between 2008 and 2009 as a member of the Delaware Army National Guard, but he died of brain cancer in 2015 at the Walter Reed military hospital in Bethesda, Md.

“My son was a major in the US Army. We lost him in Iraq,” the 80-year-old president said at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni.

A recent Washington Post-ABC poll found that just 32% of Americans believe Biden, who would be 86 at the end of a second term if reelected, has the mental sharpness required to serve as president.

But White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has dismissed Biden’s age and mental acuity as a problem.

“That is not a question that we should be even asking,” she said on CNN last summer. “Oh, my gosh, he’s the president of the United States, you know, he … I can’t even keep up with him.”

An overriding theme seen on social media is that at some point in the near future, the Democratic Party apparatus pulls the rug from under Biden and props up another 2024 alternative.
